I'll be brief: 1) What's the difference between this (it is a kit, right?): http://www.corsair.com/~/media/Corsair/Product-Photo-Root/C/corsairlink_commander_front_1.png and this: http://www.corsair.com/~/media/Corsair/Product%20Photos/link/commander-mini/large/corsairlink_commander_mini_01.png ? 2) Can these devices act since boot? cavey00 Posted November 30, 2015 Share Posted November 30, 2015 That silver one is the original Commander and is not available anymore. The black one is the newer Mini, which does the same thing for the most part and adds a single LED channel. It does require software to use, either Corsair Link software or SIV once Windows boots. Therefore the fans start at the maximum speed at the boot, then they slow down when the software is ready on Windows? No small memory that allows it to keep the configuration? wytnyt Posted December 1, 2015 Share Posted December 1, 2015 Both controllers will work without the software by using a set profile,most use the software to tailor fans to a users specific needs and yes the fans run high on boot till windows and slow down with/without the software... The CL Mini treats Pumps + Fans identically as they are both connected using either 3-pin or 4-pin (PWM) connectors. I prefer both PWM Fans + Pumps as I feel these offer better control.
