Brovig
I'm having a problem booting up a Win10 desktop system with a Neutron SSD boot disk. The BIOS says it can't find the drive. When I boot the Win10 recovery disk it hangs shortly after start - probably as it tries to read to the SSD. I am suspecting a corrupt boot sector or a problem drive. To determine that I need some tools! I have moved the drive over to another machine (but not as boot drive) in order to subject it to some diagnostics. I run the Corsair SSD toolbox but it seems to be limited to just a simple SMART test. Any better tools? Other ideas? Your help is very much appreciated! ***LATER: I've been able to test the boot sector using the tool TestDisk and it confirms that it is indeed corrupt. I don't know enough to have the courage to try a repair. In any event, it strikes me that one should first determine if the drive itself is not also damaged/corrupt. What tool can I use to determine that?
antonyfrn
Try different SATA ports and cables also check for the latest bios. Also try parted magic to access the disk. if that don't work create an RMA.
