brafax
Hi, I have an ASUS H87M-PRO mainboard and an i7-4770. I replaced my old cooler with an H110i water cooler. The installation was no problem. The cooler is also working. However, while watching the temperature in the BIOS, the temperature rose very quickly to 50°C. After removing the cooler, the heatplate of the H110i seemed only partly to touch the CPU die. I carefully put the cooler on the CPU again. Everything fit perfect, all screws were tight, but again the temperature was not stable. Is there a trick to install the cooler properly? Corsair Employee Corsair Jam Posted November 5, 2018 Corsair Employee Share Posted November 5, 2018 Hello, Check the Bios settings to make sure Fan Xpert2 / QFanControl is turned off or allowing maximum RPM for the main cpu header. This could be conflicting with it. I would also double check the Sata power connection, just to be safe.
brafax
Hi, Thanks for mentioning that. I switched that off. In addition, I re-mounted the cooler again. Now the temperature stays below 50°C under full power. Cheers, Steve
