Nekrage
Installed the ram, and the Link software. The ram only appears in a box showing the frequency and latency, nothing about changing the RGB lightning. Is there anything special that has to be done here? I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I am using an x299 board, let me guess...no support for this yet?
justevanus
don't bother with X299 even in my B250 board the link not displaying the RGB lighting opt
red-ray
With X299 it also depends on the CPU. With an Intel Core i9 7900X then the DIMMs are connected to the CPU IMC SMBuses rather than the X299 SMBus. Below you can see the system has 3 x SMBus and the DIMMs are connected to the CPU-0 IMC SMBuses. With X99 then the DIMMs are always connected to the CPU IMC SMBuses, but with X299 they are not if you have an Intel Core i7 7740K (Kaby Lake-X) CPU. The X299 SMBus is the same as for Z270 so just worked, but for the CPU IMC SMBus I needed to develop and test a totally new class module as the IMC SMBuses are rather different to earlier CPUs (BDW-E/HSW-E/IVB-E/SNB-E). satinghostrider
If you are installing Corsair Link 4.8, you will have issues. Try downgrading to 4.7 and see if you have the same issue? I think 4.7 should run fine.
