Dual Xeon with Corsair H80i v2 and h110i, fans doesn't ramp up under CPUs load

Hello! How to get to work correctly corsair H80i v2 and h110i with my dual xeon?

Fan's doesn't ramp up under CPU's load, for example on my 4770k has a h110i to and it works fine, when CPU load - fan's spinning fast. On my Xeon workstation this is not happening, I also can't install CL4 on my workstation :[pouts:

Can anyone help?

PS: Sorry for my english

Why does CL4 fail to install ? Have your got installed the .NET that it needs, in general have you installed all the W7 patches and updates?

Even if you do get CL4 to install it will only report 32 of 56 CPUs or 16 of 28 cores, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=833699

It will also not report your ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS at all well and you will get the same as http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165091

In general you need some software to report your coolers to know what is going on.

Thank you red-ray! I have a couple of questions:

1. If I set in the BIOS the fans speed as 'FULL SPEED' h110i fans begin to rotate quickly, but the fans on the h80i v2 сontinue to rotate at the same speed, because they are connected to the pump. If you disconnect them from the pump and connect to fan slots on mobo as h110i fans, it will not harm the h80iv2 pump?

2. Pump runs at constant speed? For example if I change in the BIOS the CPU fan's speed to 'FULL SPEED', will this affect the pump?

For me to sensibly help you the you need to specify how things are connected. For starters complete your PC specs and specify how the two coolers are to be used.

I feel it's best to connect the radiator fans to the coolers and use the coolant temperature to control their speed.

Every other Dual Xeon system I have come across uses two identical coolers and I suspect having two different ones is asking for issues.

If the H80iV2 drivers aren't installed then use device manager to update to the ones attached to http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=856104

Post SIV initial screen + [Link Devices] + [Link Status] + [Link Fans] so I can see how things are setup.

BTW .PNG works better than .JPG and see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=853900 for how to attach them to your posts.

I feel the first task is to get SIV to report the H80iV2. Have you/can you install the driver I attached to http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=856104?

I can see you have SIV running in -AIOCTL mode so you need to attach the H110i radiator fans to the H110i so SIV can control them. Having done this setup custom curves for them controlled by the H110i Temp.

Assuming the H80iV2 diver is installed do the same for the H80iV2 fan then post a new [Link Fans] + [Cooling Status].

I installed driver, now h80i displayed in [Link Fans]

'you need to attach the H110i radiator fans to the H110i' - ok, i will take time about 15 minutes, the connector is behind the cooler and I need to unscrew cooler.

When you change the H80iV2 pump + fan PWM % and press [Apply] do the speeds change? SIV will do this automatically on start-up once you have pressed [save] to set the configuration it should use.

Set all the fans to mode 6 (Custom) clone the H110i Fan 2 points to Fan 1, press [save] and check how well that works.

  1. I expect SIV uses incorrect motherboard fan names and suspect 1 Front Fan 1 -> 1 CPU Fan1 + 2 Front Fan 2 -> 2 CPU Fan 2. I think I have fixed them in the attached, please you check that all nine SIV names match the motherboard header names and if not if you tell me what the SIV names should be then I will adjust some more.
  2. The H80iV2 pump seems rather fast and I suspect 2200 RPM will be enough.
  3. Is the single wire from the H110i connected to the CPU_FAN2 header? I suspect not and you should connect it. It might be loose as the 2 Front Fan 2 sample count is low.
  4. You should use exactly the same setup for the two H110i fans. Select H110i Fan 2, set lower RPMs and then clone it to H100i Fan 1 by pressing the top purple blob (hover over the blob to see the tool tip).
  5. I expect you may need to use Menu->Tools->Configure->Link Setup to set the correct cooler for each Xeon as the H80iV2 should be associated with CPU-0.
  6. What case do you have (add it to your PC specs along with the DIMMs + GPU + Disks + PSU + ... :[pouts:) and do you have any fans sucking air in from the front? If not I suspect you will need to add some otherwise the case air will get rather warm.

BTW .PNG screen shots are sharper/crisper than .JPG ones.

Ok, I'll check it now.

Im associate H80iV2 with CPU-0, now RPM for H80iV2 ~ 2000.

But for the h110i is still high Pump RPM regardless of which fan control mode I choose. I don't know is it good or not, but on i4770k with h110i i have similar Pump RPM values:

attachment.php?attachmentid=27861&stc=1&d=1487675962

Is the single wire from the H110i connected to the CPU_FAN2 header? I suspect not and you should connect it. It might be loose as the 2 Front Fan 2 sample count is low.

Yes, connected:

Ready! I played with temp and PRM - it works fine:

I expect you may need to use Menu->Tools->Configure->Link Setup to set the correct cooler for each Xeon as the H80iV2 should be associated with CPU-0.

  1. For the third time add your PC specs to your profile :asskick:. This way we can easily check them without needing to go searching, further http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77167 specifies this.
  2. Use meaningful names for screen shots such as [Cooling Status].png and use .PNG :p:.
  3. How come the case fans aren't reported on [Cooling Status]? Post a new screen shot. Also the two CPU Fans should have the same sample counts. Are all nine of the fan names now correct?
  4. The H80iV2 fan should be set to Custom.
  5. I think all now looks to be OK and you just need to setup appropriate custom points. I suspect that once/if the coolant reaches 40°C the fans should be running at full speed. Once you think it's correct post a new [Link Fans].png.

Yes, SIV names match the motherboard header names (siv_beta screenshot):

But CPU Fan 1 and CPU Fan 2 value in [Cooling Status] not equal H80iv2 Pump and h110i Pump in [Link Fans], it's normal? I just don't understand what this values means, CPU_FAN 1 and CPU_FAN 2 are connected to the pumps :sigh!:

Also when i set H80iV2 to Custom in [Links Fans] and press Apply or Save all speed fields are set values to 100 and the h80iv2 fans begin spinning at maximum speed:

Ok, i understand, I'll do it now.

  2. CPU Fan 2 != h110i Pump in [Link Fans], it's normal?

When asking multiple questions use numbered lists. I have adjusted it this time, but...

  1. The H80iV2 reports half the pump speed to the CPU_FAN1 header. I know half is silly but that is what it is .
  2. The H110i reports the pump speed to the CPU_FAN2 header and the values should be about the same.
  3. Post the BIOS CPU_FAN setup screen shots, I checked the manual, but it's not in there so I had to guess what all the options are. How are the CPU_FAN1 + CPU_FAN2 headers configured in the BIOS? Set them both to [Full Speed] + PWM mode and check if the sample counts are then the same and the speeds track the pump speeds.
  4. The CoolIT H110i custom curve uses the fan RPM and the Asetek H80iV2 uses a PWM % which has a range of 0 -> 100 %. If you enter > 100 SIV will force it to 100. The RPM vs. PWM % is down to different firmware facilities in the two coolers, so you will just have to get used to them being different and is one of the reasons to you should use two identical coolers. I suspect the image below may help you choose sensible PWM % values.
  5. The case fans still don't show up on [Cooling Status], why not? Which motherboard headers are they plugged into?
  6. Your motherboard has a lot of SMBus sensors and if you run multiple monitoring utilities I expect there won't be enough SMBus bandwidth for them all. Post Menu->Edit->View STC Info so I can see how busy/delayed the SIV worker threads are.
