brg1983
I recently switched out the stock fans that came with the H100i V2 with ML120 Pro fans mainly due to the stock fans making rattling noises at higher RPMs. The ML120 fans work great, but I noticed 1 fan is brighter than the other. Does that mean the second fan isn't getting a PWM signal? Will this be bad for the fan in the long run?
slenda
When you say one ML120 is brighter than the other, how bright are you talking about ? Because my complaint about the ML120 is that its not bright enough. I`m considering buying another but the SP120 is brighter. I have one of each on my H100i, SP100 connected to a fan controller, and ML120 connected to the motherboard PWM CPU 4 pin fan header. The ML120 is certainly not a "blast of light", like the ad states, but barely acceptable.
brg1983
https://imgur.com/gallery/yjeYm I agree. They really aren't very bright at all. But one of them is noticeably much brighter than the other. It resembles one of the other ML fans that I have hooked up to a DC fan header. I'll try to add a picture of it so you can see what I mean. The new ML120 fan is much brighter. Edit: added pic for reference.
slenda
I see.. Your dim one is about what my ML120 looks like. I have called Corsair about this and the only thing they recommend is returning it to them.
