Mikem
If I run a Barton 3000+ 400MHz FSB with this RAM on a rev. 2 A7N8X-del, will I be able to push the FSB anything over 200? I know, I should have bought faster RAM if I wanted to OC, but is it possible at all? I really don't want to give up any stability. I've never OC'ed before. Should I OC the CPU in some way (I hear a lot of "multiplier" talk) that doesn't affect the FSB? Thanks for any tips for an OC'ing newb. -Mike P.S. New parts should arrive from newegg on Friday! :D:
CMC_SAVAGE
For best stability you should really leave it be. The 3000 has a mutiplier of 10.5 x a 200mhz FSB (doubled for AMD) resulting in a 2100 clock speed. The 3200LL's default timing are 2-3-2-6. Once you get your system up and running, you'll probably find no reason to overclock it.
Mikem
Thanks, CMC! Looks like we'll have very similar specs. :):
