antonyfrn
Ok I feel a bit silly asking this but not sure of the best way to-do this. Well im thinking of doing a clean install on windows 8.1 when it comes to the SSD should I use parted magic to secure erase the SSD first? or let windows install deal with it and delete the partitions from there? no1yak
Yes do a secure erase and then a clean install of your OS.

wytnyt
even so your disk stays F.A,T, without a full format...
jkats247
During the installation of Windows, it will do a "quick format". Though this is the quickest way of installing an OS, you aren't doing the SSD any favors. The blocks have to get erased, and there aren't any "sectors", securely erasing data and keeping the SSD at peak performance is the key. Do normal formatting and wait the extra 30 minutes. Corsair Wiz
I would secure erase and do a clean install of your operating system .
