  1. ASUS BIOS is usually a bit dodge at setting timings and Command Rate. It will set 1T when it should be 2T. Also instead of 2400MHz your RAM might be set at 2401MHz, because of memory dividers and multipliers not being exactly dividable at certain settings. The voltage can often get set too high as well. If you do get it to run with that extra 1MHz speed over it's top rated speed, it might work with a little extra juice, but if you get random crashes every now and then, that will be why. Running your RAM a little lower MHz than top rating is not a great loss, it might even allow you to tighten up one or more timings just a tad, or run a little better with lower voltage and produce less errors, and actually result in your CPU operating more reliably with consistently slightly better performance. First try setting your top 4 timings values manually to XMP values and command rate to 2T, leave the rest Auto and set the voltage manually to the default voltage also. If that doesn't work, then try the RAM at the next speed lower, it may be that will work fine. There could also be a different divider setting at which it will work totally fine if you set the timings, command rate and voltage printed on the side of your RAM sticks manually. The divider and multiplier may then line up without being slightly over what the maximum BIOS values are currently configured for. Often if this happens try set the divider at 1:1, set your normal multiplier, but set the RAM one step lower so 2400MHz RAM at 2200MHz, then it won't be 1MHz over what your mobo officially supports for maximum RAM speed or some other stupid incompatibility. Fire off an email to ASUS and ask for a new BIOS for the motherboard that allows slightly higher RAM speed or more accurate RAM timings for new RAM modules. They just have to alter the last BIOS a little and upload it again to the FTP server. Every now and then you get a nice dude who responds at ASUS (now and then if lucky). Maybe I can download the BIOS and have a look at it. What is the latest BIOS version you are using on your mobo? It might be possible to modify it and get it to pass checks and then and upload it to a file site.
