  1. No worries. BTW, what timings/voltage did you use, since it looks like you have my same kit? Just the primary ones? Btw my BIOS tells me that my sticks are in slots A1 and B1. Should they be in A2 and B2? EDIT: Well I feel rather silly. Putting the DIMMS in slots A2 and B2 cleared things right up. The mobo manual recommends as much when you only have two DIMMS. Even after updating the BIOS XMP wasn't working when they were in the other slots. Why name them so unintuitively, BTW? I also see that my PC info appearing here is for the machine that's on the way out.:!oops:
  2. Are you replying to my last post? Remember, I have a Z170-A board. Is that your model too?
  3. I'm pretty sure I'm experiencing a similar issue to those described in this thread: I have an ASUS Z170-A motherboard, an i7 6700 non-k CPU, and 16GB of supposedly 3000 MHz Corsair Vengeance low profile DDR 4 RAM--this stuff (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0134EW7G8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . When the BIOS is set to XMP so my RAM can run at 3000 MHz, POST fails and I can't even get the BIOS up on the monitor without holding down the power button to turn off the machine, then turning it back on, at which point I get the screen telling me to hit F1 for setup. If I set everything to "optimized defaults" and run the RAM at 2133 MHz or whatever I have no problems. Now I'm admittedly still running the 3007 BIOS for this board, dated December 2016, and there have been two updates since (the latest, 3401, is dated March 31st this year). Is anyone able to run this RAM on this board without resorting to setting the voltages/timings manually?
