Brightness Dark Core RGB Pro

Recommended Posts

I am not able to change the brightness using iCUE 3.34.161 on a Dark Core RGB Pro under device settings (In iCUE).

If I slide the slider it either goes completely off or stays completely on. The slider also goes all the way to the right when it's completely on, or completely to the left when it's completely off. the 50% mark on the slider seems to be the point where it switches from on to off.

I was expecting to use the slider and slide it to where I wanted the brightness to be, and leave it like that.

Mouse is connected using USB cable, but it also has the same issue when connected wirelessly.

Hi Vanadiel,

I haven't personally heard of that issue happening yet with 3.34, so this is potentially a newly discovered bug.

We recommend you downgrade temporarily to test if this solves the issue. Please perform a clean install using the 2 links below:

Installed the older version, same problem. Also did a reboot after installation just to double check. Same issue with the slider.

I am wondering, could it be a conflict with another piece of software that controls the lighting functions of the keyboard (from another manufacturer)?

I tried with old versions and with the last to 2021:

- iCUE 3.37.140

- Dark Core RGB (key 1.2.55 / wireless 1.0.82 / version 1.1.164)

Is there not a fix yet to decrease the brightness with the slider?

Regards!

Bought a Dark Core SE in Nov 2020 and also have the same issue. Brightness control behaves digital on/off but iCUE software uses a slider control which makes no sense me. I wrote Corsair support about the problem they told me to make a clean install. Maybe just a bot reply. I'm disappointed. Even a clean install of latest iCUE 4.9.350 doesn't fix it.

On review of this situation, it turns out this action/performance is within the design specifications for that mouse.

I will forward this feedback from all of you to the mouse specialist for review to add varying brightness slider functionality.

More then one year and Corsair still didnt solve this stupid problem that kills battery life...

I switched from Logitech becasue I thougt that overall quality (soft + hardware) is better on Corsair side. And it's not. Lot of stupid errors, unsolved bugs.. Im getting tired of these...

One way to work around this is to either: a) turn down the color values on effects to reduce brightness; or b) create a shade.  To do this, add a static black (0,0,0) layer on top of the preferred lighting effect.  Then use the opacity slide for the static black to let some of the underlying light pass through.  This creates a 1-100 brightness slider more precise than a 3 position setting.

Hello, you all dont know me. But i'm from the future, the year 2023. I just came to tell yall that corsair STILL HASNT fixed this problem. Just bought my mouse recently and started using it wirelessly and wanted to adjust the brightness to preserve battery obvi. Well shocker, the slider only goes from 0% to 100%. This is insane.
