H80i display failure...

I purchased the Corsair H80i cooler shortly after it came out. When I installed everything and run the software the first time it actually displayed the pump status. After I upgraded the old firmware, which back then a corsair tech told me that they had the upgrade info wrong, it never displayed the pump information again on the Link software.

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of the Link software and it still doesn't display anything about the H80i pump; it only shows cpu temp, video card and my corsair force 3 ssd. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could assist me with the problem. I feel like I got hosed over because the software and firmware for the H80i when it released were not synched up right.

I had spoken with a corsair ram guy on the phone explaining the problem of not being able to see the pump info in the Link software shortly after I installed it and he said he had the same problem and that future patches should resolve the problem, which they never did.

I am wondering if CL bricked it when you did the firmware update. It did this to me, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134052

Is the H80i listed on Devices and Printers in the Unspecified section? If you can't tell post a screen shot.

If you exit CL, run my SIV utility then post [uSB Bus] + [Link Devices] screen shots I could comment further. See http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140665 + http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=784898.

Red-Ray, thanks for responding! The H80i does not show up under unspecified devices, however there is an "integrated USB bridge" located there with no specifics on it.

I am not sure if the firmware updater busted it because it only worked the one time before I updated the firmware. The first time I was able to speak with a corsair tech rep, he told me that the firmware update was crap and that the same thing happened to him. The tech rep told me to wait for future firmware update/patch to fix the problem. The only problem with waiting is that I am still waiting for a fix to the problem. I attempted to contact corsair, and even emailed and never received a response back. I bought the H80i shortly after it was first released, so I know that new egg wouldn't issue an RMA this late in the game.

I think Corsair botched the firmware and never made it right with us customers that bought the unit early on and waited forever for a fix that never came. I have been running my H80i cooler without ever knowing what in the heck is going on with the cooler pump and fan control.

That probably is the H80i.

Looing at [uSB Bus] then the I/O Error 31 means there is an issue with the firmware in the device. The 31 = ( is SIV also getting an I/O Error 31.

Have you tried to update the firmware using CL 3.2.5742, if not try, though I expect it won't be possible.

I don't expect you can use CL 4.2.0.162 as I and others can't find out how to do this.

If that failed/fails then request an RMA via https://corsair.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp and explain the CL bricked it while doing a firmware update. There is an express/advanced option so you can get the replacement and then return the faulty one, but you need to give them CC details.

I have not tested SIV on many UPSs, what does it report for yours please? Press the blob to the left of UPS on the initial screen.

Well Ray, I uninstalled the latest CL software and reinstalled the version you suggested, CL 3.2.5742. Under this older system more devices now show up but still no pump information. When I click on the options it does list corsair hydro usb but when hit the update it says that there is nothing available.

I bet you are correct that the first CL update bricked the cooler. I will have to contact them for an RMA, just stinks that it took me this long to get it straightened out. I went through a rough period of time where I couldn't get anyone to respond to me from Corsair, so I truly appreciate your help with this!

Also about your UPS question, I can't find a UPS button on the initial screen when I launch your program? Perhaps I am not looking in the right area, but I would be glad to help with you any info you may need. Please let me know if there is another pull down menu where I have to click on?

Thank you and yes it did work. Not many UPSs report as much as mine. The top part is missing as you are using the PowerChute driver.

I suspect the logos are missing as you ran SIV directly from siv.zip and it's best to extract all the files to C:\Program Files\SIV\ or similar and run SIV from there. I also suspect it could not use it's driver.
