Just sharing my to-do list of Corsair One initial setup, hope it helps ;)

BIOS

  1. Check latest firmware version
  2. Disable unneeded devices (e.g. onboard sound)
  3. Enable "Resume by USB" so you can wake-up the computer with USB mouse/keyboard

Drivers

  1. Install latest Samsung NVMe Driver at https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/ (While there is no absolute need to install a driver but Samsung does offer a dedicated NVMe driver for optimal compatibility and performance.)
  2. Install latest Nvidia Driver at https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
  3. Install latest MB drivers via MSI Live Update at https://www.msi.com/page/live-update-5-manual
  4. Install other drivers (e.g. monitors, mouse/keyboard)

Windows

  1. Perform usual optimizations (e.g. disable unnecessary startup/services/effects)
  2. Uninstall unnecessary programs
  3. Perform windows update
  4. Disable background apps
  5. Perform storage cleanup
  6. Run defragmentation tool (TRIM)
  7. Optimise GPU setting (e.g. resolution, refresh rate, color depth)
  8. Enable G-Sync
  9. Check HDCP status
  10. Set Full Dynamic Range
  11. Check CPU-Z and GPU-Z for all hardware details (e.g. PCIE gen, RAM speed)
  12. Create restore point after everything is updated and tuned

Samsung NVMe

  1. Install Samsung Magician at https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/
  2. Enable Over Provisioning (allocates a certain capacity of the SSD to an available space to improve the performance and lifetime of the SSD)
  3. Samsung Magician suggests NVMe temp above 50c as "HIGH", so I set iCUE custom fan profile at 50% to maintain the NVMe at 47c.
  4. Check NVMe firmware version

iCUE

  1. Update iCUE to the latest version
  2. Enable Hard Drive Widget
  3. For i145s, custom fan speed at 50% with around 750 RPM (ambient temperature 26c)

    • Coolant at ~30c (idle)
    • CPU at ~35c (idle)
    • GPU at ~30c (idle)
    • NVMe at ~47c
    • HDD at ~34c

Tips

  • There are USB 3.1 GEN2, USB 3.1 GEN1, and USB 2.0 in back I/O, so choose the right port to connect your USB devices.
