Kashif
Hi, I bought these headphones last year, around 17th or 18th October, 2012 and have been using them since then. They were working fine but about a month back I started having issues with the charging cable and socket. The USB socket seemed to be loose or on the fritz. That was negligable, as were the cracks on the black 'arms'. About an hour ago, I was using my headphones but they suddenly stopped working. Switched off, then the blue light on them came on and has not turned off. It isn't blinking, nor are they charging or turning off. If I remove the dongle from my PC, the light goes off but my headphones still don't charge. If I plug it back in, the blue light comes on and stays on. I'm attaching some pictures of it here. Can someone tell me what's up with it and how I can fix it? Note that I'm in Karachi, Pakistan. http://i.imgur.com/PD7C1Usl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/39fm6egl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pZZrCBWl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YQ66JzBl.jpg
vexed
I'm not saying this will solve the problem but it seems to solve alot of the issues people have been having with the lights remaining on, allow the headset to fully discharge then recharge it fully before using them again and they should work. an official reply maybe a few days away as it is Christmas if this doesn't solve the problem. Kashif
Okay. Trying that out now. My headphones are still showing me that blue light and it is nagging me to do something about it :-/ I noticed those other posts but most of them are complaining about the charging light staying on as well. In my case, it's just this blue light. Anyhow, I'll try discharging, then charging it fully. Let's see.
vexed
It would be nice to have an official response on what the lighting codes mean (if anything) e.g amber and blue solid this mean or blue light etc. I hope discharging and recharging solves your problem if not it maybe sometime before anyone from corsair replies with it been the holidays
Kashif
Yes it would. I was looking for information about this before I stumbled onto the other posts here about the lights staying on. If someone reads this, please start a thread and pin it stating what these light codes mean. I hope so too. The blue light went off and it is charging right now. Haven't tried to switch it on though. So much for spending ~$130 thinking that they'd last and be worth the spend :-/ I use Corsair Vengeance DDR3, a Corsair PSU, and had a Corsair PC case before as well. Never had any complaints, but these headphones are scaring me. First the cracked plastic, then the USB socket going wonky, and now this. After this, I don't think I should invest in Corsair headphones anymore :-/ Yep. The holiday season. Plus, since I'm in Pakistan, if I have to send this thing to Corsair myself, I'll just go out and get another pair of headphones from some other company because it'll cost quite a bit. I doubt their agency here has these in stock.
Kashif
Okay I just checked them out. They seem to be working okay now but I'm too scared to use them now lol
vexed
Good to hear that they are now working, I'm sure they will be fine from now on if not just RMA them, its alot of hassle if you have to do it multiple times but after the first one all shipping fee's are picked up by corsair but its still a pain in the ***** given the pricetag of the headset
Kashif
Hmmmmmmm It'll be too expensive for me to RMA :-/ It'll cost me close to the cost of a new pair of headphones lol Might as well just go get a new pair then lol
