Palmutti
Hello I ordered a TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX kit before i knew that it needed 2.1v i´m using asus m2n-e sli mb and when I start with both of the sticks it just starts beeping constantly but if I remove one of the sticks my computer boots up as normal without any problems. I have tried to run the memories with different timings but i´m not sure i have tested with the right timings. Is there a way that I can make my computer start and run stable with both of the memories even tho my mb only supports up to 1.95v or do I have to buy a new mb? Thank full for replies and sorry for my bad English.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 8, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 8, 2008 Try setting the timings to Cas 5-5-5-15 at 2t C/R.
Palmutti
ok, thanks fore the quick reply, now I have set the bios settings to: Memory Clock Frequency: 800 Mhz tcl: 5 trcd: 5 trp: 5 trc: 15 1/2 Memory Timing: 2T DDR2 Voltage: 1.95v But it won't boot and the anoying warning sound remains. Is that the correct settings? Is their something else i could try to cange? I would prefere to buy one more kit of theese memories insted of a new mb. Palmutti
Don't mind the erlier posts i have just ordered a new mb. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 9, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 9, 2008 Yes that MB will work fine but these should post on that MB, you might try them one module at a time to make sure one is not failing.
Palmutti
I have tested them both in all of the slots and one at the time. They both post when i am using only one of them but with them both it won't. Well thank you for helping me I will use my old parts to build a new pc for my brother so i won't be wasting my money. And if the memories dont work with the new mb I can just send them to you and get new ones right? By the way I love your way of treating customers keep up the good work! Palmutti
It runns perfectly with my new mb! But now i have a new question, I am thinking about buying 4gig more(the same kind) will it run stable with this mb?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 11, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 11, 2008 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.05 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
Palmutti
ok thanks for the information i have just ordered one more kit now, hopefully it will work. but if i set the memory frequency to DDR667 won't that slow the memories down?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 14, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 14, 2008 Yes but that is what you may have to do with 4 modules installed.
Palmutti
ok, but should i try without setting the frequency to 667 and se if it works?
Yellowbeard
ok, but should i try without setting the frequency to 667 and se if it works? You are welcome to try as some MOBO+CPU combos can do it where others cannot. Please post your results and good luck.
Palmutti
Ok now I have got the new sticks and i have changed the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and I set the memory frequency to 800mhz. acording to amd OverDrive the memory runns at 400mhz wich i assume is the "real world" frequenzy? I have set the timings to auto and it runns in 5,5,5,18 2t acording to amd over drive. should I try to change the timings to 4,4,4,12 2t? I'm going to run memtest later but so far so good every thing runns smooth and I have played Crisys at high on them for about an hour with out problems.

Palmutti
I have changed the timings to 4-4-4-12 2T, the Memory frequency to 800mhz and the dmemory Voltage to 2.1. I have tested the modules with memtest without errors. Cpu Z picture: http://s350.photobucket.com/albums/q409/Palmutti/?action=view¤t=cpuz.jpg Memtest picture: http://s350.photobucket.com/albums/q409/Palmutti/?action=view¤t=P160708_040202.jpg Does this mean that it will run stable or do I still have to change the memory frequency to DDR667? It should be stable but, the only way to know for sure is to use it and test it in your daily usage.
