Yea, I am a IT professional. And I have thought about returning the keyboard, but that would make me loose money for a product that I actually like when it works (Which really wouldn't be much). Since day one, I have said the hardware on the keyboard is great but software is extremely frustrating and Software can always be fixed.

I am willing to work with corsair a little on finding a fix but I don't want to bend over backwards either as this is supposed to be a finished product. I understand bugs can come out with updates to software but it shouldn't be on the consumer to have collect dumps and so forth.

You're an IT professional that does tech support and you don't know how to export a registry key for safe keeping?

I can certainly understand not wanting to beta test their keyboard and
I will be returning mine as it's way to buggy for prime time.

The odd thing is, just as I'm about to pack it up and take it back it starts working perfectly and fools me into keeping it another days. LOL

Good luck with yours

I know perfectly fine how to export and import an entire registry, a specific HKEY and even a sub key but that doesn't mean I like doing it. Touching the registry manually is always a last case scenario in my opinion.

I will give it some more time, but if these issues don't get resolved I will more than likely return mine as well.

Please give our development team time to troubleshoot using the details you have provided, and to make the necessary changes (and test them).

This Steam incompatibility is turning out to be quite rare - only a handful of people are having the issue, and we believe most of our customers are running Steam, so it is working for almost everybody. This is not to say that it isn't something to be fixed, just that it's difficult to reproduce.

whats the difference between "crash/ stop responding" and "malfunction"?
randomly when starting steam, my lights will freeze, and CUE would become very very laggy, it does not crash or stop responding though.

1:
z97 asus sabertooth mark 2 with intel 4790k
i have latest bios and chipset
also using just the 1 usb 3 plug into intel usb 3

3:
seems to only happen sometimes when i change users on steam

addendum:
lights also freeze randomly when computer left idle.
keyboard does not start in default profile after flipping the keyboard switch to bios and back.

the above statement is a more specific description of my problem, along with the random freezes.

Hi, for me, the software just makes the keyboard crashed, the keyboard, lights never freeze all day but If I open the CUE, it will freeze the lights after 5 mins or less and the software will be laggy as zhe1274 said above

I am having all kinds of issues with my K95 RGB: freezing, the device stating that it has malfunctioned, having to manually unplug from USB ports (have tried 2.0 and 3.0) to get it to work, and it's asking firmware updates over and over. I have the most recent firmware and version of CUE installed.
I love the hardware but the software is horrible. I am starting to rethink my decision to venture away from Logitech. Please assist.

Yeah this doesn't help. at all

This software is a mess. My mouse has an LED that doesn't even change colors. You guys should have just delayed it even longer to make sure everything works.

Not sure if anyone else is also having this issue but XBMC/Kodi also freezes the CUE software. Also, Steam freezes mine on open.

K70 RGB using USB 3.0

Once the K70 malfunctions, CUE runs soo slow that it took me about 5 minutes just to open CUE and get to the support tab. It doesn't crash but I do get the "This program has stopped responding" and if I click wait, it'll come back near instantly.

My K70's status is malfunction.

Thanks for the logs. I'll make sure to forward this to the team in our ongoing investigation of resolving this issue.

i just had my first real "malfunction" the keyboard completely stopped working while in a left 4 dead 2 game, toggling the switch to bios and back did not fix it, only replugging the usb port did.
and ever since the incident, lights have been freezing more frequently. i assume this is part of the list of problems already? or should i upload my most recent logs?
and where can i get the previous version of the software which has the "save to device memory" option?

*****LMAO, i know how to recreate my lights freezing issue.
if i spam my caps lock button, eventually my Lights will freeze, sometimes they freeze after a second of spamming, sometimes after around 4 seconds. its also easy to tell when they have frozen since the caps lock light stops toggling on and off.*****

I'm having this same issue. Starting Steam or loading a game will stop all lighting effects. It essentially will "freeze" the keyboard into whatever lighting is currently loaded.

Even things like the Caps Lock or Num Lock lights won't work. Additionally, the Corsair Utility Engine software either crashes or becomes very unresponsive.

Here is what the logs repeatedly show:
