mattc4tt
Might have missed something basic but have been trying this **** out for a couple of hours and can't get it :(.
Comm4nder22
I don't know if it works for you, but on my K70 it worked. Please don't ask me how, because i seriuosly don't know. I was trying some solutions and then it worked somehow, even though it makes no sense to me. Have fun.B Ripple.prf
mattc4tt
Hey man, I have a K70 as well. Doesn't work for me at all unfortunately :(.
Comm4nder22
Try to delete the B key from the groups, then add it again to the "shripple" group and then to the other ones. I think this triggers a bug which makes it work until you restart. Does it work for you now?
Powerpuncher
I think there is an easier way. Here is how I did something similar: http://i.imgur.com/tH4VXke.png Create a ripple effect in the Lighting tab and then assign it to an action. Comm4nder22
I tried something similar, but then the key doesn't work as a key anymore. It only does the assigned action.
Powerpuncher
Yes, that's the downside of this method. But it's the best that is possible with this crap software.
Comm4nder22
Got it! Why didn't i think of this... Simply assign a macro of pressing B (and releasing on release) to the B key with the ripple effect as lighting.B Ripple 2.prf
Powerpuncher
Well, it still doesn't function like a normal key. I tried to play something like Guitar Hero with this method, the time it takes the action to perform is much higher than an actual key press and is also inconsistent. Also it isn't really a continuos press, the keyboard just simulates a press every so often (depending on your action settings).
Comm4nder22
How did you set up the action/macro? In normal use it seems to work fine to me. Would you like to test my profile on this delay etc.?
Powerpuncher
Try to play this: http://www.kongregate.com/de/games/sigames/scgmd4 With the arrow keys as a keystroke action and the 1-4 keys as a keystroke action with the repeat enabled. Comm4nder22
Apart from me being bad at this game, this seems to work.SCGMD4.prf
Powerpuncher
This profile is empty for me. I have the K95. What did you do?
Comm4nder22
Every used key (1,2,3,4...) has one macro connected to a second release macro. The "press macro" presses the key and releases a ripple lighting at start (nothing else). On release the second macro is started, that releases the key. For the keys 1,2,3,4 the release macro also has a ripple effect at the start, that goes from transparent to background color, to 'stop' the ripple started by the press. (so you have visual feedback for the release) The ripple for the numbers is also longer, so it doesn't stop while you press. The release ripple has the same settings but as said it goes from intensity 0% to 100% of the background color. A bit confusing, i know... If you want pictures for the effects etc, just tell me. The macros are also set to start on press and to not repeat. (because the key is just pressed and not released)
Powerpuncher
I see, that's pretty clever. Although way too complicated for such a simple effect IMO. Corsair desperately needs to improve their software. So much potential just lost. Edit: It still has the same delay problems.
Comm4nder22
Nothing is too complicated... It sucks, that the complicated stuff results in an input lag, but i'm out of ideas.
Powerpuncher
If it was at least a consitent delay, it wouldn't be that bad, but the delay is inconsistent as f*. I think the software simulates the actions in batches instead of in real time, which kind of boggles my mind why they did it that way.
B33Jus
It is very possible. Check out how I do this: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showpost.php?p=780854&postcount=
