tp503
Any electricians here? I'm running a molex extension out of my computer to connect an external Node Pro behind my monitors in order to turn on and off with the computer. In order to hide all wires to my monitor, I'd like to run an additional molex extension cable in the wall from an old work box to an old work box. Being that the molex is 5v and 12v, it's considered low voltage and therefor [i think] I'm within code to run it in the wall cavity. However, it makes me nervous doing this as I've never heard of it and can't find anyone online who has done this. To be extra safe, I was going to run it through smurf tube. This leaves me with two questions: 1) Will 12 feet of molex extension degrade power at all to make the Node Pro not function? 2) Has anyone ever heard of someone running molex through their wall??
