Keep in mind each set-up is unique. Any kind of preset is going to try and strike a balance through the center of an average build. A low end pump speed that is just fine for a 1 block, 1 radiator may not be enough for a triple rad/2 block with lots of turns. Same thing on temperature response. You will quite a different experience in 17C room vs a 28C room. Regardless of that, if you are running a high overclock on your CPU or interested in keeping the GPU from continuously downclocking, letting the coolant temp get to 40C may not keep you below your hardware temp limit.

Fan-freaking-tastic. Your points are well-noted. I've got 1x280, 1x240, and 1x120 and at "idle" temps the fans turn on for a few seconds, then turn off, then repeat. So I was wondering what coolant temp was trigger. To your points, it's not exact to my setup, but it is pretty close. I'm comfortable playing with the curves now. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, that's my thing about zero fan modes. The turn on from the off state can be more distracting than having them already on at low baseline level. I prefer fans at bare minimum vs off and at least that keeps some air circulating both for the radiator and in the case for multi-radiator set-ups.
