I've been hearing some rumors that the upcoming K90 isn't all mechanical switches?
That some of the keys will rather be rubber dome instead of the stated Cherry MX Reds? Is there any truth to this or was this just some sort of unfounded rumor? Thanks for the clarification! Also, on a side note, I'd love to offer some feedback.
(p.s. I hope my references to the a Creative product and Alienware is ok? To the best of my knowledge, they aren't your direct competitors.) This will be my first Corsair product, and I'm super excited. I'll probably going with Corsair for my next case build too! ![]() Last edited by Culverin; 09-26-2011 at 02:50 AM. |

Kinda disappointing to hear, even if they aren't hit as much. I was using the F keys all the time in FFXI. Could move the macros to the G keys but those are the same.
Watching the video didn't help either. @2:32 "Because they're linear switches it means they have the same spring force all the way down and all the way back." @2:38 "The trigger point is at exactly the same point the way up and way down." These are not true. ![]() |

Slightly cleaner version, but also from what I would guess to be a competitor's site now, even if they're more about typing than gaming. Feel free to delete or have me remove it. ![]() |

I don't know, Corsair's approach makes sense to me. Based on what I read here about the switches;
http://www.overclock.net/keyboards/4...ard-guide.html They appear to be trying to find a balance between both gaming performance and price by not making the infrequently used keys Cherry. I don't see why every key needs to be mechanical, unless I'm missing something. Admittedly, I've never owned a mechanical keyboard before, so it appears I am missing something based on what I am reading. Still, I don't see how the top row keys being dome matters..., to me..., I used them occassionally, but not enough to make a difference. It's all subjective, of course. I'll be getting the K60 as soon as newegg has it. YMMV. Justin Last edited by JustinHEMI; 09-27-2011 at 08:33 AM. |

Very disappointed to hear about the rubber domes.
Sorry Corsair, I was thrilled to hear that a Cherry Red keyboard would finally be available and really wanted to like it, but I think I'll be waiting for one that uses all mechanical switches. If you ever expand your Vengeance lineup to include more products and create a keyboard that uses all Red mechanical switches, I'll be first in line to buy one. :) |

Can someone educate me as to why the top row being domes is a deal breaker? Like I said in my previous post, I've never had a mechanical keyboard, so I am missing something. But I've read posts like the above all over the place.
Thanks! Justin |

Synthohol, they're talking about the mechanisms UNDER the keys, not the keys themselves :)
