crazymoogle
I'm pretty sure this isn't the first thread somebody has made on the subject, but I guess it's my turn... New SystemFresh install of Windows 8.1-x64Followed troubleshooting instructions in FAQ threadWindows Device Manager is all clear (no question mark devices)Running as administratorCorsair Link 3.1.5667 What does appear? Temps: CPU, Motherboard TZ00, TZ01, MB CPU, GPU, SSDFans: Motherboard CPU AUX, Chassis Fan 2, GPU"Motherboard Temp 0" is hilariously high - 113.0c - so maybe that is the H100i or something else. There's no way any part of this rig is that hot at idle GPU shows no fan speed, but that makes sense for non-stock cards SIV Results Link Devices shows "Corsair Integrated USB Bridge"Link Fans shows "Corsair Link Fans are not available"USB Bus shows "Port 0.7 Corsair Integrated USB Bridge, Version: V2.00 Full, Device Type: Human 0.0, Device Information: I/O Error 31 A device attached to the system is not functioning."There is also another device - Vendor: 0000 Unknown USB Device.(EDIT) tried disabling EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled, no effect. Any ideas - I'd love to hear em. Not really interested in Corsair Link but I would love to check and update the H100i firmware if possible, plus maybe cut down on the wake fan speed (from sleep the H100i gets pretty loud?) red-ray
On [Link Devices] after unchecking EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled did you press [Restart]? If not do so. Once you do this the Channel IDs should change and the I/O error 31 should have gone from [uSB Bus]. Post the [uSB Bus] and [Link Devices] screen shots. I expect the  high 113.0°C is a bug and CL needs fixing; if you look at http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=790593 it's reporting a  low -55.0°C on a Corsair owned system :sigh!:. If you e-mail me the SIV save files (http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=788225) I should know more. Post Menu->Machine->GPU Info or include [gpu-info] in the save file so I can check if the GPU fan should be reported. I suspect the wake from sleep noise may be related to: SIV will automatically re-initialise C-Link hardware about 30 seconds after resuming from sleep/hibernate when running in -CRLCTL mode, CL does not, see http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137560. red-ray
I am having the same problem Same answer, Post SIV [uSB Bus] and [Link Devices] screen shots and/or do what I said above. See http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=784898 After the firmware update I suspect the USB ID changed and Windows installed a new device. Do as https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/315539 says to uninstall the Windows Ghost devices (Doing this on XP and later is much the same) Add your PC Specs to your profile

red-ray
I can see the issue. To fix it do: Exit CLRun SIVOn [Link Devices] uncheck EnhancedPowerManagementEnabledThen press [Restart]Exit SIVRun SIVPost a new [Link Devices] screen shotPost a new [Link Status] screen shotExit SIVrun CL All should now be working. There are 3 ghost Corsair Integrated USB Bridges you should uninstall.

What do think the [sort] button does? You should use the Insert Image facility.

red-ray
No you didn't, you also unchecked AllowIdleIrpInD3, maybe others and I did not ask you to reboot. You also failed to use Insert Image. You don't need to reboot, just press [Restart] and as soon as the hardware is working Channel IDs will be checked. Given SIV managed to read the H100i firmware version the hardware must now be at least half working. From Device Manager uninstall the two Corsair Integrated USB Bridge devices (SIV should have set this as the name), do scan for hardware then uncheck only EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled and press [Restart]. http://i.imgur.com/uDRFeXu.png http://i.imgur.com/CZZ5Cw0.png I did not write ADIA64, I expect Tamas can tell you what the AIDA64 information means. If you can't be bothered to do Insert Image I can't be bothered to reply! One out of three and one I did not ask for or need. You need to post the [Link Status] before the reboot then both [Link Devices] and [Link Status] after the reboot.

crazymoogle
Hello red-ray, Yeah, restart did the trick. Corsair Link now sees the H100i, performed an automatic update, and I have fan control. SIV also gives the all clear to that USB slot. As for wake from sleep though...I tried all three configs (nothing running, CLink running only, SIV running only) and any way you have it, upon wake the H100i spins up to around 2650/2700 RPM for around 15 seconds before dropping back to whatever it needs to be at. At least it backs down on its own, but not great to have a theoretically quiet box blasting every time I need to wake it up... I'll email you the SIV file as soon as I puzzle that part of the forum functionality. :)

SIV -CRLCTL does the EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled kluge automatically and I feel CL also should. I have suggested this several times and as it takes < 100 lines of code I am at a loss as to why Corsair have not done this. The GPU Fan RPM and % are both zero so I would not expect it to be reported. The board is quite new and SIV also reported silly temperatures. Log this as a CL bug to Corsair. As CL uses the CPUID SDK it may get fixed faster if HWM (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html) also reports silly temperatures and you report the bug to the CPUID guys. Send them the HWM save file. I have fixed this in SIV 5.02 Beta-12 and suspect getting CL fixed will take rather longer. The fans spinning fast for 15 seconds is when the H100i firmware is initialising after power is restored. I expect all you can do is raise this with Corsair support. For SIV to fully restore the H100i 30 seconds after sleep/hibernate resume you need to not use CL, run SIV in -CRLCTL mode and have used [Link Fans] to setup the profile and then saved it. You may also wish to use [Link Lights] to setup and save the LED configuration.Do you know to set similar to 255,1,1 rather than 255,0,0 to get round the LED initialisation H100i firmware bug? Have I covered everything?
crazymoogle
Thanks red-ray. Well, EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled only has to be disabled once, as far as I can tell. So there's that. :) Sad the hardware can't be updated for it though, as immediately after making my last post and rebooting, Windows 8.1 gave me the BlInitialized failure 0x0000017 kiss of death despite 4 days of runtime and nothing installed but CL, SIV, Prime95 and the Asus drivers. Memtest86+, Prime95, CrystalDiskInfo and Furmark all come up clean, so no idea what's going on there. Other stuff: I'll give HWM a try and look into reporting it, thanks.I'll ask Corsair about it. I was wondering if maybe upgrading to PWM fans (ie: not stock) might help. Not sure why I would need SIV to restore the H100i? I mean, apart from the fans doing their firmware thing, it seems that the setting change was enough?Wasn't even aware of an LED issue, to be honest. The window on the Corsair 250d is on the top, so unless I stand up it's not noticeable. Good to know!
red-ray
Yes, you only do the EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled kluge once unless you move the H100i to a different USB port.Switching to PWM fans will have no effect on the silly temperatures. You don't need to use SIV to do this, if you Google for EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled you should find several hits about using regedit and then rebooting to achieve the same.Which method to you prefer? crazymoogle
Oh, I didn't mean on the silly temps, just on the wake speed. I'll bring it up with Corsair Support. And I think I finally lost track of the thread, not sure what you mean with that last question. :) I think we're good. emailed you the SIV file stuff. Here's hoping Windows 10 is a bit less of a mess!
