Vengeance PRO RGB 3600CL18 vs 3200CL16?

So, im curious here, according to some folks, all you have to do is divide CL by speed x 2000 and you get its speed in nanoseconds, so:

3200MHz cl16 -> (16/3200)*2000 = 10 nanoseconds

3600MHz cl18 -> (18/3600)*2000 = 10 nanoseconds

i could not find a CL16 3600mhz speed, so that means these 2 modules are the same? subtimings are the same too 18-19-19-39

those are 2x8gb kits,

i also found a 2x16gb kit that got my attention, being a 3600mhz 18-22-22-42, noticed how the sub timings are higher than the 16gb kit, are these any noticeable?

Even though it gets thrown around a lot that formula is of very limited usefulness in my opinion. The two kits are not the same, just because you get 10ns for both kits with it. If you ignore all other timings latency might be similar, however bandwidth will benefit from the higher memory frequency.

There were a couple of DDR4-3600 CL16 models like CMT16GX4M2K3600C16 and CMW16GX4M2K3600C16, it does however look like they have been discontinued. If you care about latency however, you might want to check out CMW16GX4M2C3200C14. Those are also pretty decent overclockers and should hit DDR4-3600+ CL16 no problem.

ps: The first four are all primary Timings. Sub-timings are secondary and tertiary timings and these are generally not listed on the product pages; and can also greatly vary from one platform to another.

hey thanks, thats the only reply i got but quite covers it. i figured that formula wasnt all that simple, regardless, indeed i havent been able to find any 3600c16 or less in my country e-sites, so i think i'll stick with 3600c18, 32gb too, i guess i got over-worried about the fact that the 32gb timings are a bit higher after the c18, but still, c18, seems like thats whats matter the most, right?

plus, after searching and searching, seems like 32 is not really the overkill it used to be in 2016 anymore. Yes i'm looking at you flight simulator
