v1.10.67 prohibits Google Chrome from showing mouseover status information

After installing v1.10.67 I noticed that Google Chrome will no longer show mouseover information such as link destination in the lower left hand corner or any link title text/image alt/title text information. I traced it to CUE and have confirmed that it only happens after installing the latest version of the software as it works in previous versions (latest working version tested: v1.8.122). It's a bit of an annoyance and I hope that this can be resolved soon. :)

I have totally uninstalled/scrubbed Chrome from my system twice, reinstalled, and used Chrome without signing in to my Google account. Still had the issue. As soon as I closed down CUE, the functionality returned. I have tested it on the previous version of CUE and Chrome was uneffected. As soon as I re-updated to the latest version of CUE the issue returned.

Has anyone else replicated this? I'm seeing people saying "Chrome? No way!" but it would be nice if someone else could duplicate the issue.

Again, this isn't a major annoyance and I only stopped by to report it and hopefully help anyone else who might be searching for this issue. Something got changed in CUE since last update. I'm curious what it could be. Wondering if there is a beta version available to try...

I have tested this by closing my constantly running background programs one by one. CUE was not the culprit in my case. It turns out it was rainmeter. Thanks to the OP though for helping me get on the right track to figuring this out. It's been bugging me forever not being able to read the alt text on xkcd. I'll see if I can update rainmeter to fix this issue on my end.

Negative.

I wonder if it's a conflict between programs? For example, what if it wasn't Rainmeter or CUE but rather some other program that when the conditions created by the other two occurs it causes the problem. :/

At any rate, congratz on finding your problem Moskeeto! Take care! :) And, yes, this thread will help others out there with similar situations. :)

I registered to comment that I have the exact same issue as Cybersh****. Windows 10, CUE 1.10.67 (mouse is Sabre RGB). I can trivially recreate it even while chrome is open: Open chrome, go to any web page, Status bar shows on hover while CUE is closed, open CUE, status bar hover no longer works.

One more finding to add: for most tabs, the hover functionality strangely works while the page is loading, by moving the mouse over meany links, or leaving it over a link as the page loads, as soon as the cursor is in an open area (anything other than a link) for a second or two, the functionality breaks completely.

It's driving me nuts and took a while to isolate it to CUE. Corsair Help!

Just updated to CUE 1.11.85 hoping this would be resolved, but the problem persists :(

Switch, could you verify something for me? Go into your CUE software and select Settings>Device tab and check the "Disable device lighting" box. Does that rectify the problem? It does for me. I am using v1.11.85 now as well.

Is this what you guys can't see?

Yes, CJ. The popup information in the lower left hand corner.

Discovered that disabling device lighting seems to "fix" the issue. Waiting on SwitchZA to verify if that yields the same results. Thank you for checking into this. :)

Hi, just registered to say this fixes it for me too.

Could you guys go in to your logs when it fails to show mouse over in Chrome and check if there is this statement. Mouse LED colors change failed. request timed out for Scimitar

Windows logs? Nothing there. Went over them with a fine toothed comb. Nothing out of the ordinary caught my eye...

Additional info for Corsair James: besides the link destination popup like you showed in your screengrab, also not getting popups for things like link or graphic title information (when it's available) either.

Yes, a big list of "Mouse LED colors change failed. request timed out for Sabre1".

Sh**** + James: Confirmed that this fixed it for me, thank you!

Checked log files, I don't get any of those timeout errors, just a bunch of messages that seem to appear on startup of CUE.
