Default Corsair one - nvidia rtx 2080 upgradeable

I know it's early days on the new RTX GPU range, but I've only just bought the Corsair One with the 1080ti and want to be sure the 2080 can be retrofitted in the One case at a slightly later date.

Dimensions are:

GTX 1080ti: Height 4.376" / Length 10.5" / Width 2-Slot
RTX 2080ti: Height 4.556" / Length 10.5" / Width 2-Slot

So looking at the size specs, if the current Corsair One internal has a little bit of headroom (with the cooler too) it might be okay.

Right/Wrong please - Corsair Tech Wizards?

It's not something we have tested on our ends, so I cannot give you a clear answer.

Okay. Understandable at present. Can you advise if there is a Corsair service centre location in the UK for things like upgrading or repairing the Corsair One? Thanks!

I wonder if the 1080ti model can be ungraded to 2080 ti since the 2080 ti has two fans whereas the 1080 ti has only one. Also, if it is, should I purchase a 2080 ti founders edition (not sure if it right, but it seems those made by other manufacturers are too big for Corsair One) by myself or will a paid upgrade option be provided? Many thanks!

So I did some research myself. It turns out the 1080ti in Corsair One is a MSI 1080ti Sea Hawk without the case on. If MSI doesn't change the specs of the case for 2080ti Sea Hawk, and given the specs of 2080ti from nvidia, theoratically it is upgradable. Still, it might still takea a while till MSI releases the 2080ti Sea Hawk.

This is not true. The 1080ti in the one is a modified version of MSI DUKE card with our HG10 bracket attached to it.

At any case, there WILL be a 2080ti CORSAIR ONE, we will keep you posted as the date getting closer. Stay tune!

Thanks for the correction! As much as I would love to own a 2080ti Corsair One, my wallet unfortunately says otherwise. What is the possibility that an upgrade for the 1080ti model will be offered? And since I'm moving to Japan, is it possible to get an upgrade there if the upgrade service is offered?

I agree with Mawkish, i don't want to upgrade an entire box just for a video card.

I concur with others here, having recently purchased mine which is less than 12 months old... Going out to purchase a C1 with 2080 is absurd... There has to be an avenue where there is capability for all C1 owners to upgrade their "future proof'd beasts" without having to fork out the cost of a full system.

Upgrading the gpu SHOULD be made available for a cost which should be reduced as the resale value of current 1080 and ti models is still quite good.

I'd be watching this... Hopefully Corsair don't act like Apple and force their consumers to go all out for a gpu upgrade

Unfortunately you will not be able to upgrade the GPU in CORSAIR ONE.

Never say never!

I think one of the biggest hurdles is going to be a replacement AIO. The C1 has a radiator I've never seen before - the tubing comes out the 'edge' where normally the inlet/outlets are on the side or end.

That said, on top of this you may well have an issue regarding cooling the thing in general - there will be no control software or you will need to configure your own.

That is disappointing. I don't think it's impossible to upgrade the gpu from the technical standpoint, at least not for the 1080ti model. Personally, I love my Corsair One. It is a great product and delivers the monstrosity (at least for now) power that it is advertised to. The 2080ti upgrade is not that necessary for me since the "leap" isn't that big and the first generation rtx cards don't work well with rtx and 4k at the same time. Still, if an upgrade option is provided, I would seriously consider it for some games that still struggle to reach 4K60fps even with reasonable graphic settings.
