FIXED ... see “p.s.” at end
Hi There, Bought a new keyboard last week specifically so I could use the “G” keys as macros to send text within the in-game chat window in Elite Dangerous. I created a few TEXT sentences using CUE and assigned to the keys. They work perfectly in Word or notepad. But they don’t seem to work in Elite. Also, in the key bindings, I cannot assign these keys nor the media control keys to a function within the game. Seems Elite Dangerous simply doesn’t recognise these as keys. Am I doing something wrong? Is it your drivers, or the CUE program itself? Any help would be appreciated. dmonds p.s. I worked it out...TEXT function won’t send the text into ED but the MACRO function with 25msec delays between each action does. Still cannot get ED to recognise the media keys though. For anyone stumbling onto this...I worked everything out.
As above, creating a macro with a delay between each keystroke works well for me to send canned chat messages to the chat window. As for the media keys, I simply bound normal keys (F7, F8 etc) within Elite then used a macro to simply assign that key to one of the media keys....so whilst they now work, It’s a bit of a kludge. |
