Media keys and Mouse button 3

Since the last update, the media keys have stopped working on my K70 RGB and the mouse 3 button which I use a lot has stopped on my M65 RGB.

 

I have tried the fix discussed here, but it doesn't stick after a reboot and it doesn't resolve the annoyance with the mouse3 button

I assume you mean the last update of windows? Because CUE does not touch that service.

 

I can't think of anything that would reset the service to not start automatically each time, you're probably better off asking for support on a windows forum. That is if I understood right what you said..

It may have been the 1511 Windows Update, but CUE was updated recently too. I get the feeling that this is probably more to do with CUE rather than Windows but I don't know enough to back that assumption up.

Try installing again CUE, if you try to install the same version a repair or uninstall choice should appear. Choose the repair option and see what happens. If that doesn't work try uninstalling completely CUE and re-install it.

 

If a complete re-install doesn't work either I'm out of ideas :p:

Your suggestion for uninstalling/reinstalling CUE worked for the keyboard but mouse3 still isnt working for me.

I decided to try the mouse on another computer. The other computer has an older m65 which works. The Mouse3 button didnt work on there either so looks like its become faulty. I am therefore RMAing it.
