bbbl67
What's the recommended water cooler for an AMD FX-9590. I know some of these come with their own water cooler block, but if I got one that didn't have one included in it, then what is recommended Corsair block? antonyfrn
H100i push & pull or h110iGT if you can mount one.
Synthohol
agreed, i have that CPU and it sure gets toasty, you may be able to get away with the H80 if you dont OC but the 100 or 110 is Corsair's recommended one.
antonyfrn
An FX8350 would probably be better and overclock.
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted February 2, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 2, 2015 Basically you want the biggest, beefiest cooler you can fit. That CPU has a 220W TDP, it's a bear, so if you can fit the H110i GT, you do that. If not, see if you can fit the H105. If not, go down to the H100i. Still no good? Then the H80i or an H90 with a second fan.
bbbl67
Thanks guys. Now why all of the warning about if I can fit the H110i? Aren't all water coolers pretty low profile? Or are you talking about the radiators and fans? BTW, I have a Cooler Master HAF X, will that fit the H110i?
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted February 10, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 10, 2015 According to Cooler Master's compatibility list, the best you can do in the top of the case is a 240mm. So you're looking at an H100i most likely.
slugzkea
The H105 performs better than the H100i. My H105 does great on my FX-8350@5ghz 1.455v. Idle temps: around 20c Intel Burn AVX Max RAM usage test: Cores 50c, Socket 60c Average gaming temps (BF4, Guild Wars 2): around 40c
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted March 10, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 10, 2015 The problem is that the H105 requires additional clearance that the HAF X may not have because it has a thicker radiator.
