MikeG BE
Hello, I was browsing the forum and read that it's not possible to use a sequential lighting mode when you use more than 6 fans. Is this still the case for the current software version?
DevBiker
Yes ... kinda. You do have some Lighting Link effects that work sequentially (Color Wave, Visor) but you don't have control over the order of the devices.
c-attack
The lighting link effects that have a sequential nature will automatically go in device order through the system. However, for doing your own manual waves/ripples, you are working with two different devices, each with their own timings and effect setting. How you split the 7+ fans over two RGB controllers will affect the timings you need to create and it is not an easy task. A lot of it comes down to case layout. 2 extra fans on the bottom you never see could have their own RGB Hub and do their own thing. When you start getting into 4 + 3 and trying to program the delays to match, it gets harder. If you go this route, do yourself a favor and make even numbers -- even if your true fan count is not. So if you have 9 fans (5 on Ch1, 4 on Ch2), tell iCUE Ch2 is 5 HD/LL/ML fans like channel 1. It will invisibly generate the effect to keep both in sync without the need for complex manual timings.
