Windows 7 issue with CUE software

Recommended Posts

Just got my new corsair void wireless rgb headset.

Inserted the dongle, started windows (win 7), default driver install added a default driver and it worked. Plays, is visible in "audio devices" and all seems fine. According to windows, driver "USB Audio Device".

After I read about the CUE software, so, downloaded and installed it. Windows 7 goes to retry and reinstall the dongle, this time with the CUE software driver. The driver install fails and the device isn't registered. I re-open device manager and manually set the driver back to "USB Audio Device", headset works again.

What the deuce? Do I miss something sound wise if I keep the USB Audio Device driver or do I reallllyyy need the other one?

Reason why I ask if I miss anything is because when listening to [ame]

[/ame] I dont hear any sound under the "LFE" speaker.

According to the CUE software the headset and dongle appear to be in 38.01 firmware version, status is "works normally" (oh and battery 90% atm ;)).

Please advice.

edit: in the CUE software, changing any EQ settings (the sliders, not the presets) do not seem to give changes in the sound, also a reason for making this request.

driver used right now (the one that works):

Could you go into the Sound > Playback > Headset Earphone Properties > Advanced and share what the settings show on that window?

With the "wrong" driver still enabled right now:

Hi Tom-my -

Please try the following:

1. Disconnect the receiver dongle, get a paper clip, press and hold the reset button (small hole) for 15 seconds. Yes, perform this with the dongle disconnected.

2. Plug the receiver dongle back into a USB port that it has never been plug into before.

3. Wait for the generic driver to finish installing.

4. Connect the headset to a USB port that it has never been plug into before.

5. Wait for the driver to finish installing.

6. Press and hold the power button until the LED light on the receiver dongle stop flashing.
