jdrtech Posted September 6, 2003 Share Posted September 6, 2003 Hello guys, i am a new member to this board, im in the works of building a new pc for myself, i have a ASUS P4C800 deluxe motherboard with a p4 3.0ghz cpu, im not a overclocker....but i wouldn't mind pushing a few buttons sort of speak to get better performance, i read alot of great reviews on the corsair memory and the bottom line which memory i should get, i check for prices on [url]www.googlegear.com[/url] , im looking to install 2x 256mb dual channel memory, so which one should i go with??? 3200C2, 3200LL or 3500. thanks john:laughing: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, I'd just go by what it says in your motherboard's QVL (Qualified Vendor List). The QVL says, for Corsair, 256MB or 512MB modules PC-3500C2. In general, the 256mb stix are single sided (SS) and the 512mb stix are double sided (DS). Both are good but DS is better. It will perform better. Asus's list should be taken with a grain of salt... I've gotten four sticks of PC3500 running at 2/2/2/5 and 220Mhz *and* four sticks of PC4000 running flawlessly at 235Mhz. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 8, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 8, 2003 The thing you really need to remember with QVL lists, is most MB makers will not qualify an over clocked part or piece of hardware, one that's not JEDEC compliant. And you will not see any module DDR400 that’s Cass 2 listed as JEDEC complaint. Honestly we would not send any MB make our over clocked modules unless they asked for them. Most of our customers do not want a part made to JEDEC Spec they want a module that will run at what we say it will run at. So we havent put too much into that. But if you want a JEDEC compliant part the part # for DDR400 would be, CM64SD512-3200 Cass 3-4-4-8. That would be built to JEDEC Spec. Or if you want a little more performance then I would go for our Twinx1024-3200LL or Twinx512-3200LL. If you do plan on over clocking I would suggest our Twinx512-4000 or Twinx1024-4000. Yellowbeard Posted September 20, 2003 Share Posted September 20, 2003 Welcome to the HoH. The PC3200LL RAM is a lower latency RAM than the PC3200C2. It will run tighter RAM timings than the PC3200C2. I would definitely suggest the PC3200LL for the P4C800 E MOBO.
