Another H100i not detected thread. Hopefully short...?

Fresh install of Windows 8.1 64bit on an older build that had a fully functional Corsair Link. I'm sure all my connections are 100%.

I've read many threads and tried some suggestions for others but none have fixed my issue.

The program works fine, just doesn't detect the H100i.

I'm sure it's a USB driver issue but admittedly I glaze over when playing with SIV.

So, hopefully a quick fix. Where do I start?

Hey red-ray ... you don't have to post such useless comments and then hide away by deleting them like that. Stand up behind your words or don't bother posting!

By 'glaze over' I mean that I simply don't understand. Sorry, we're not all software geniuses like you. But I'd love to see you put a N55B30M0 back together! ;)

After thinking some more I read this to mean that you simply did not wish me to help so deleted the post hoping you had not read it. Please can you explain how I could have known what the comment was meant to convey or achieve?

I thought this as I assumed you would have read http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=791779, but then again maybe you did not. I get the impression it is often the situation that a new thread in instantly started by some, such as http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143212. That guy has not even heard of SIV, at least you bothered to look at some other threads :sunglasse

Had this been how I read it I would simply have pointed you to http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=791779. It's all to easy to get the wrong end of the stick and I am sure wytnyt will confirm we have done this several times :o:.

Given wytnyt's post I assume this is meant to provoke me into replying. Maybe you too will regret posting it . I was half tempted just to reply and not actually try and help you, but this would not be constructive. I much prefer e-mails such as the one I got which said "That comic definitely made me laugh":p:

It would be helpful in you included the URL or can only software geniuses do this? I used Google and think you mean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N55 is this correct? Assuming so then probably not though I could drive a BMW.

By analogy I expect you could not develop SIV, but I have found most can press the [uSB Bus] then [Link Devices] buttons and post those two screen shots. Some deduce they should then uncheck EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled and press [Restart] others need a little hand holding.

During a quick 12 mile bike ride I calmed down, realised you are new to the forum and probably don't realise what the CL software is really like. I have left my original words on the off chance you have already read them.

Figuring out what needs to be done to resolve issues such as yours is often tricky. My solution was use the existing SIV [uSB Bus] panel, add [Link Devices] and ask for screen shots. Others recommend trying older versions of CL. It's up to you which option you choose. http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=784898 shows my solution worked.

The thing that I find really irritating is that given the code to automatically do the EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled changes < 100 lines of C why on earth don't Corsair add this to CL so we don't need to do this in the first place . I recall first suggesting this late in 2014 when I added this to SIV 4.50 which I released on 14-Dec-2014 :brick:.

I am wondering, would you find doing as below easier? If so then doing this may get your H100i working, though if it does not I would need to see [uSB Bus] and [Link Devices] to tell more. Note you need to press [brouse...] to set the location of SIV64X.exe on your system as I don't expect it will D:\SIV\. If there is a space in the path you need similar to "C:\Program Files\SIV\SIV64X.exe" -CRLCTL.
