Default problem with my 4 gb ram

everyone... my name is pat first time here and i got a little problem. this week i bought new rams 4gb corsair cm2x 1024-6400 my mobo is a nforce 680i sli. i try tu put 4gb but the mobo give me the C1 code. the first two slots near the cpu does not work the last two near the edge of the board works fine and i can only put 2gb ram. so is this a motherboard problem or the ram??

Test the modules one at a time to be sure but yes that would suggest a problem with the MB.
