Default Questions about those Silent MX keys

Hi all, I just walked in the door from my local MicroCenter with a brand new K70 RGB w/ Cherry Reds (they price-matched Newegg for 159.99 by the way).

Of course then I see online that the Strafe has MX Silent keys. Think Corsair will bring the MX Silent keys to the K70? I was wondering if I should return this K70 and wait it out? Anyone have any insight on that kind of stuff?

Thanks!

Hello feralist,

There are no immediate plans at the moment, but who knows what the future will bring

Ah ha! Wink, wink!

I'm pretty impressed with how smooth and mostly quiet these Cherry MX Red keys are on the K70 so I'm curious to hear the Silent MX's!

Hi Henry,

+1 for the K70 MX Silent.

Personally I don't think I'll buy the MX Reds nor MX Browns(MX Blues I don't even consider).
But if a K70 RGB MX Silent were to be released, I'd order it on the spot.

I'd definitely be interested in a silent switch K70, but after using the STRAFE Silent for a week or so, I'm curious if Cherry will be making a Silent switch based off of the Brown key too. The Silent in the STRAFE seems to be based off a Red switch and generally I prefer brown over red. I know that's preferential, but I'd be very curious to try out a Silent Brown.

EDIT: Just some context here if you're re-reading my first post. I started out with a G710+ and went to a K70 RGB w/ Cherry Reds. Didn't realize the G710+ used Browns so I wound up missing the Brown keys when I switched to Red. I just returned the K70 Red and exchanged for a Brown and haven't looked back.

That's exactly my situation as well. If I were to buy now a K70, I'd opt for the browns. But I'm willing to forego the tactile feedback for a more silent keystroke.

But tactile feedback + silent keystroke would be the best for me as well :)

I think they're testing the waters with the Strafe RGB w/Silents. If it does well, I wouldn't be surprised if Corsair starts rolling out other keyboards with the same switches.
