..VeNoM..
Hi all, I use the H50 cooler with 2 coolermaster standard case fans in push/pull and wanna reduce the temps of my CPU for overclocking. From what I read about fans is that a higher CFM = better cooling?. I have done some searching and found the Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM Slip Stream Fan has a 110 CFM and are very cheap so I have 2 questions.... 1) Will this fan be good for the H50 Rad? 2) Can I obtain a Y Splitter for PWM (so I can run both fans from the PWM socket on my mobo)? better fans would be a more affordable option for me than purchasing the H70 or am I better saving for the H70 and using the default fans? Cheers, ears... Todd
djmorgan
If you use a splitter make sure 1 of the sensor leads from the fans is cut, if not you will get very strange readings off the header. Not sure about the fans! with a H70 it's the pressure as well as the flow that is important due to the size of the radiator. David
justinrmitchell
slipstream fan are no good. the motor is a motor for 80mm fan not a 120mm. there weak and dont last very long. use sflex g, noise blockers, cm r-4 or panaflo
..VeNoM..
Why is it so hard to pick a good fan??? The site I use I can't seem to find those fans http://www.scan.co.uk but I did find the Noctua NF-P14 FLX Ultra Silent 140mm Fan which fits on 120mm sockets. Very low noise even without the low noise adapters and a decent CFM @ 65 with a Static Pressure 1.29mm H2O. I don't know much about fans so what do you think to this instead of the scythe slip stream?
justinrmitchell
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/120mm-Coolermaster-SickleFLow-Green-LED-Quiet-Case-Fan (CHOOSE YOUR OWN COLOR) http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/120mm-Scythe-S-FLEX-SFF21D-Fan-800-RPM ( A LOT WEAKER THAN THE SFLEX G'S BUT QUEIT) pretty much anything with a high cfm and lowest possable dba is good. the higher the rpm the more static pressure, but usually louder as well. it can be hard to find a good balance and fans are the user preference. hope this helps
djmorgan
Here is one you might want to consider, high pressure with PWM http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6634 David
