TWINX2048-3200C2 NEED 2 modules!-PlzHelp!

Hello.

Board = ASUS A7N8X-X.

Momentarily BIOS settings (2x512MB RAM):

CPU ext. freq: 166MHz

Memory Voltage: 2.7V

Memory freq: [by SPD]

resulting freq: 200MHz

memory timings: aggressive

SDRAM active precharge delay: 8

SDRAM RAS to CAS delay: 3

SDRAM RAS precharge delay: 3

SDRAM CAS latency: 2,5T

Need to upgrade to 2GB memory.

Have been searching the web for days --> "TWINX2048-3200C2(PT)" is only to find as matched = 1 module which I MUST NOT use for my board.

Also "under no circumstances" ValueSelect! --> please read corsairHP:

http://www.corsairmemory.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=4065

Where can I find an onlineshop that sells the above TWIN as TWO module-Kit ?

Urgently needed.

Can anyone help me ?

TWINX2048-3200C2* means a pair, so you don't need to specify a 2 stick kit. Not sure where you can get it overseas, but you can get it from NewEgg in the USA. Search for TWINX2048-3200C2 (no PT), as the PT simply means platinum colored. Probably get better search results that way.

Hi Wired,

found a reseller who says that he sells the TWINX2048-3200C2-KIT with 2 modules à 1024MB. IS a PT.

Just waiting for his answer ref. warranty etc.

Thanks a lot for helping tip, meaning without "PT" searching.

RAM GUY :):

corsair-HP say expressly that for Nforce2 "VS" under no circumstances to use!

All is well cause today I received the pair "TWINX2048-3200C2PT" :D:

Now my Quest how to set the BIOS

Momentarily BIOS settings (2x512MB RAM):

CPU ext. freq: 166MHz

Memory Voltage: 2.7V

Memory freq: [by SPD]

resulting freq: 200MHz

memory timings: aggressive

SDRAM active precharge delay: 8

SDRAM RAS to CAS delay: 3

SDRAM RAS precharge delay: 3

SDRAM CAS latency: 2,5T

Will my BIOS set automatically, when I just replace the 2x512MB by the 2x1024MB (TWINX) ?

If not could I take the above setting again, except

SDRAM active precharge delay: now 6

Board: ASUS A7N8X-X

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (runs at 1920MHz with below BIOS-settings).

Note: I'm thankful for every MHz :!:

What would you recommend how and what to do.

I am not very familiar with these settings to say the least :(:

Best Regards

Information about the NVIDIA nForce2 400 Chipset

** IMPORTANT NOTE ** For maximum system stability, Corsair recommends the use of XMS memory ONLY with nForce 2 motherboards. Value Select memory is NOT RECOMMENDED. The nForce2 platform processors not only carry the new generation architecture consisting of DDR400 controller and AGP8X graphics interface, but also integrates the innovative Dynamic adaptive speculative pre-processor (DASP) and Hyper-Transport Technology to boost the overall system performance.

Just replace what you have now with VS2GBKit400C3 and set these settings

Momentarily BIOS settings (2x512MB RAM):

CPU ext. freq: 166MHz

Memory Voltage: 2.7V

Memory freq: [100%/1-1/3-3]

resulting freq: 166MHz

memory timings: aggressive

SDRAM active precharge delay: 7

SDRAM RAS to CAS delay: 3

SDRAM RAS precharge delay: 3

SDRAM CAS latency: 2,5T

And you should be good to go!

Hiya :D:

as I already said I received the pair "TWINX2048-3200C2PT".

I have set BIOS to:

CPU ext. freq: 166MHz

Memory Voltage: 2.75V

Memory freq: [by SPD]

resulting freq: 200MHz

memory timings: User Defined

SDRAM active precharge delay: 6

SDRAM RAS to CAS delay: 3

SDRAM RAS precharge delay: 3

SDRAM CAS latency: 2T

note: if it's anything to do with "By SPD" and "200MHz", I got CPU AMD Athlon 2600+ running at 1920MHz now which is favorable. (Athlon 2600+ = downgraded by AMD).

During the night I ran "Windows Memory Diagnostic-CD" (DOS) till 7:00am.

Was then pass 20.

LRAND, Stride 6, WMATs+ > on > succeeded

WINVC > on > active

No errors have been found.

If you still recommend to set

Memory freq: [100%]

memory timings: aggressive

then please tell me so.

Thank you ever so much for helping.

Ram Guy,

You will have to set the memory frequency at 1-1 or DDR333 with that CPU!

Do you mean

CPU ext. freq: 166MHz

Memory Voltage: 2.75V

Memory freq: [by SPD]> 100% instead - then how to set to 1-1 ?

resulting freq: 200MHz ? > leave at 200MHz ?

memory timings: User Defined > once set to "aggressive" timings will go up

SDRAM active precharge delay: from "6" to "8"

SDRAM RAS to CAS delay: 3

SDRAM RAS precharge delay: 3

SDRAM CAS latency: from "2T" to "3T"

Please forgive me for bothering you :o:

Ram Guy :D:

set to 100% as you were so very kind to describe :)

Settings are now as follows:

CPU ext. freq: 166MHz

DDR Reference Voltage = 2.75V

Memory freq: [100%]

resulting freq: 166MHz

memory timings: User Defined

SDRAM active precharge delay: 6

SDRAM RAS to CAS delay: 3

SDRAM RAS precharge delay: 3

SDRAM CAS latency: 2T

CPU Speed like before = 1916MHz

Thank you for making me happy *thumbsup for endless patience with me*
