SP120 High Performance low RPM problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I got two SP120 High Performance fans that I use for my H100i.

The problem is that, one of them is running slower than the other.

I manually maxed out the speeds in bios settings.

Its like around 600 RPM slower than the other.

I tried connecting it to different fan headers in the motherboard.

But the one is always slower than the other.

Do I need to get it replaced?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

The box says 2350RPM.

And I'm not using any voltage step down adapter.

Anyway...

Lets say I connect the fan in the mobo fan header and check the RPM in bios.. it says around 1300... But when I connect the other fan to the same header and check, it says around 2000.

So does that mean, its defective and I need to get it replaced?

Both the fans are HP edition.

I tried connecting the included SP120 from the H100i. They are insanely fast btw. The only reason I bought the new fans was cos of the red rings :)

Hi there,

It probably is faulty.

I took it out and now using it as bottom intake...

And I replaced the radiator fans with the stock ones... SP120L that came with the box.

They are now much better.. Temps are cooler... CPU @ 22C

I'm not gonna RMA the fan.. The process is a nightmare.

Thanks for your help (:
