V8 Animal
Hi, I have recently overclocked my pc and would like someone to take a look at my settings and point out if there is a problem or not please. I have tested it with prime.occt, and memtest+ all without errors. Only snag i have hit is memtest v3.5 won't run. DerekT
Download Memtest86+ V2.11 from--->Here Try with this Memtest. If you still lockup, raise the tRead value.
V8 Animal
That's the one that works. The other one lasts 6 seconds and restarts but if i put 2 single sticks in i upgraded because i thought i had a problem that works. It seems memtest v3.5 don't like 2x2gb sticks. V8 Animal
Could i be cheeky and ask for settings for 3.2 or 3.4 won't go above that or should i stick with what ive got? Ive had a go myself but it fails to boot so i assume i need to alter a few more settings than the ones i have already done. Thanks for any help. Btw i have altered static tread value to 8 i have also read somewhere that the refresh to ACT delay should be 70 for 2x2GB is that right? Cheers
DerekT
I usually just set it to Auto and leave it up to the enumeration of the BIOS to implement. You seem to know enough to test the machine and get an overclock out of it. You've got the machine, not me so I advise you to play with it. I help those who don't know what they are doing to find baseline overclocks, show them how to set values, but in the final analysis, it's up to them then and I can see by your settings that you know enough to test on your own. As long as you don't overvolt the DRAM you will not hurt it so play with the settings if you want minimal (if any) increases. I use the main settings and performance settings. The rest of the settings I set to Auto. You have a very low Vcore, so you certainly need to look at Vcore when increasing the FSB past 333Mhz. ~1.3v is certainly not going to easily make 3.4Ghz. I use a top down philosophy. I do not set low, I set high, find stability and then begin to lower voltages and fully test the machine.
