Flava0ne
I'm currently in the process of individually sleeving my AX1200 modular cables myself, but I noticed that on the 6+2 PCI-E cables that the +2 portion are both crimped into 1 connector pin that goes towards the AX1200. But I also noticed on the 8-pin connector that goes to the AX1200 that there's an available slot to put another connector pin. Would I be able to separate the +2 portion of the PCI-E cables and have each one individual by crimping another connector pin on the other wire and putting it in the available slot on the connector housing for the AX1200. Minding that I decide by which pin goes where by judging the current layout of the 6 pins?
Flava0ne
So does anybody know if I can do this safely without frying my video cards? If someone on here purchased the AX1200 Individually Sleeved Modular Cables from Corsair, could you please post a picture of one of the PCI-E cables, preferably a pic of both ends of the connectors. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 10, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 10, 2012 Flava0ne I am not clear on what you are trying to do but if you are trying to modify the cable from the way it came I am sorry all I can tell you is that we would not suggest it. Flava0ne
I understand that, and will not do it if it will mess things up. On the cable sets that Corsair sells for the AX1200, how are they able to individually sleeve the PCI-E cables if the +2 portion is crimped onto 1 pin on the other end? A pic of the PCI-E connectors on both ends from the cable kits that Corsair sells would definitely give me my answer if I will be able to do this or not. EDIT: A pic of both connectors showing both sides of each, would definitely give me my answer.
