ca6
I'm about to buy a second hand X128 to run a RAID0 setup with my current one. Is there any way to find out if the one I'm about to buy is still under warranty? I've got the serial.
Toasted
-If its refurbished then i think its 30 days. -If its new, then its probably three years (That is for the other SSDs, May not be the same)
ca6
Thanks :) but perhaps I could've been more clear: It's two year, but I need to know for these specific drives since I have no receipt. WDC has an online service where you enter the serialnumber and can find out if the product is still under warranty.
Synthohol
unless you are the original purchaser there is no warranty. its non transferable.
ca6
Good to know, if that's correct I'll never buy Corsair products again then. *** And that's not an answer to my question
Synthohol
your proof of purchase is the start of your warranty, what did i not answer? WD has the same policy, WD will have no liability for any Product returned if WD determines that: ... The Product was not sold to you as new. ca6
Because I asked for a way to find out if a product is still under warranty. Obviously other than the receipt, if you need it spelled out for you. Stop trolling please.
Synthohol
the warranty starts upon purchase date. im not a troll, just ask the boss for my references :): i cannot make you like the answer, i can only point out the facts.
Wired
No, you can't put the serial number into a part of the website and find out when the warranty expires. If you want to find out when the drive was MADE, look at the first 4 digits of the serial number (YYWW).
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 2, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 2, 2012 I'm about to buy a second hand X128 to run a RAID0 setup with my current one. Is there any way to find out if the one I'm about to buy is still under warranty? I've got the serial. A: CA6, I am sorry but if you purchase any Corsair second had there will be no warranty and Synthohol is correct the warranty will be from the original purchase date and to the Original purchaser. This covered under our warranty policy.
