ecopsorn
Bought a HXi850 with strong coil whine. I will have it replaced with the same type through DOA/RMA first to see whether I was just unlucky. In case the second HXi850 also whines as a cricket, I was considering trying the AX850 next. Therefore the question: HXi850 vs AX850 cables, are they interchangable? Specific reason is because I already ordered some replacement cables from cablemod specifically for the HXi850. If the cables won’t work on the AX850, I’m gonna RMA for other other HXi850s until I get one without insanely loud whine.
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted July 11, 2020 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 11, 2020 The 24-pin on the HXi is different from the other Corsair PSUs. The 24-pin on the HXi has 24-pins (10+14) going into the PSU. The other PSUs, like AX Titanium, has 28 (10+18). ecopsorn
Ah thanks. I did only get the extension cable set for the 24-pin and have configured PCI-E and power cables that go in the top left if the mobo (sry dunno what they are called). So I should be fine with those in any PSU right? Still hoping of course that I can stick to the hxi and hope that the replacement will not have coil whine
