First iCUE install freezes at 60%

I'm sorry if this has been discussed to death, but as of now I've tried all the troubleshooting I've found on the forums and nothing helped so far.

 

I just bought a 280x with rgb fans. I'm trying to install iCUE but it always freezes. I tried to install LINK too but it didn't help (don't see why it should). I already tried to uninstall everything, delete all the registry folders, programdata, localappdata and appdata folders. What more can I do?

I am sure I will get told off with this but Corsair have always written horrible software. In my experience the best thing to do is try the different versions and when you find one that will install, disable updates, cus sure as heck it won't work for long if you don't. Really though Corsair have suffered from this for years and years and STILL haven't got their act together.
