ricky_roman
My new Obsidian 450D arrived with a stuck side panel. If I can't get this off my weekend plans of building and gaming on my new pc are kaput. I have removed both thumbscrews and pulled really hard on the handle flange, but the door didn't budge. Please teach me the secret way of opening my computer so that I can fill it with lovely new components.

ricky_roman
Thanks for the reply, I really wish it worked as pictured in the video; however, when I pull on the side panel cover handle it doesn't come loose.
wytnyt
try using your other hand pushing on the front of the panel while pulling with your other hand,,it must be just an overly tight fit.
ricky_roman
No dice, I'm afraid it is really jammed on there tightly. Anyone else have a problem like this?
ricky_roman
The basic problem here is one of insufficient leverage. I ran out to Home Depot and got one of these large suction cup grippers. With the case on its side I clamped the gripper near the front side of the side panel. I assumed my stance with one hand on the panel handle, my other on the gripper and the case resting against my hip. Then I pulled forcefully, and shang it came loose. Was this a little extreme? Perhaps. Satisfying? Definitely. Now the build can finally commence!
wytnyt
Basically the same principle as I suggested as one of my other cases has this issue,It will loosen up some with a few removals... don't forget to share some build pics...;):
