paladin1369
I installed 2 CMX512 - 3200C2PT rev 1.1 in the MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R and it will post at DDR 333, I changed it in the bios to 400 and it still shows 333. I tried it in slots 1&2 and 1&3 still no change, but if I install only 1 at a time one will show at ddr 400 and the other will show ddr 333. is the 1 stick of ram bad. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 27, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 27, 2004 Where exactly does it show that one is running at DDR333 and one at DDR400?
paladin1369
When the computer is posting at boot up, when I use only one at a time, also If I use CPU-Z and check the banks one will say 2700 and the other will be 3200. :(:
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 28, 2004 Well CPU-Z will show you whats in the SPD and not what the chipset is running at. I would use AIDA32 and see what the chipset is running. But if you set the timings manually that will solve this.
paladin1369
I tried to set it manually but it will change to the lowest SPD speed, is what I’m guessing, since when I change it in the bios it will reboot and still post at 333.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 1, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 1, 2004 Please set the memory timings and Frequency manually to the tested settings DDR 400 at Cass 2-3-3-6 and see if that does not solve the problem. Also please make sure that you have the latest bios and install them in slots 1-3 and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts.
paladin1369
The one stick of ram has a SPD of 2700(i got this ram when it first came out) is there a way I can RMA this ram for one that has the correct SPD. the MSI board will not let me manually set the speed of the ram,it will change to the lowest SPD speed.
