Question Open Default Mail Program - K95

I am trying to get my shiny new K95 to launch outlook at G2. I can do it via starting a program fine, it's just that using that method, every time I hit the button it starts a new instance of outlook instead opening the already started instance. I have had multiple other brands that can handle this, can the K95 be made to somehow? I tried searching the forum and Google for ideas but I'm stumped. TIA for any ideas.

I don't think that is possible as each time you press G2, it will create a new instance Outlook.exe each time you press it instead of opening the current running one.

Thanks for the replys guys/gals. I will keep digging. Might see if I can get AutoHotKey to do the trick. If I find something I'll post it up here.

I found on a forum that the K95 can run VBS scripts so I just tweaked an existing script I had to launch a BAT file to start outlook with the /recycle switch which works great. Little hokey, but it works. Sad Corsair hasn't spend some time with the software. Hopefully the RGB series will get some upgrades to the programming side of things. Can't wait for the new shiny RGB!

VBS script (set Gkey to Launch this VBS script, edit path to BAT file as needed)
Code:
Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
obj = WshShell.Run("D:\Josh\Downloads\Drivers\Keyboards\Corsair\OpenOutlookRecyle.BAT", 0)
set WshShell = Nothing
OpenOutlookRecyle.BAT file contents
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle

Question Upgrade to CUE v2.8.70 no VBS support?

So just updated CUE to v2.8.70 and I can't seem to get any VBS scripts to run when I set an action to Run the Following program and then point at a VBS file. Anyone have any suggestions?

Only EXE files are allowed in the "Run a program" action as far as I know, and I think BAT files too.

In your case you'd have to create a BAT file that runs your VBS file.

Sad

Bummer, they used to run. I was running the VBS scripts so they would run my BAT files hidden as shown above in my previous posts. Hopefully VBS support will be added back in soon :(

If I recall right the ability to run files other than EXE/BAT ones was a bug and they "fixed" it. I doubt you'll see them support again in the near future.

Thanks for the info terabyte. I ended up using a nifty little app called EXEFromVBS v1.3 which simply created EXE files that will launch the VBS script. There is a slight increase in the delay to launch the app, but it's working. Thanks again!
