New build not 3-4-3-9 T1 Ram timings

Hello,

I need help setting my system ram at desired 3-4-3-9 T1 timings stated on the ram.

My bios set the ram as 1.8 volt 5-5-5-18!

I can manually change all these settings but not to 3-4-3-9; it will not boot.

Thank you.

i started at 2.35 and lowered it .05 until it got funky at 2.2 so at 2.25 it seems golden.

i hope you have the cool Corsair fan blowing on them!!

they will blow at 2.4v with no fan!

whats your 1M SuperPI?

I would set 1066 and 5-5-5-18 with 2.1v with that board and CPU. Then when you move to Intel you can begin to use the DRAM in higher values. You can very easily damage the DRAM attempting to access the extended frequencies and timings on that system.

Your choice though.

I will upgrade to 2gbx2 1066 and run the same timings as this 1gbx2 800.

How can 1066 run at the same settings as JEDEC for 800 with the same board. Up the voltage before the ram frys itself?

No point in bothering with 3-4-3-9 unless it's at 2.4 volts but everyone says they will blow unless I use the three little fans on top. I have 2x140mm fans above them already with 9 degrees celcius case temperature.

Maybe a different board could run the EPP on these 800 chips.

I am using the Dominator fans.

At ~2.4 volts it will boot with 3-4-3-9-22 CR T2. However once in Windows it restarts by itself.

I wonder about the voltage of my other ram; DDR1 400 2-3-2-5. It's voltage runs ~2.70! No fan. It has no problems, why does 2.4 on this newer ram (Dominator) with a massive heatsink have issues with .3 less volts?

Stable as of yet. Playing Warcraft3 Frozen Throne without hiccuping or freezing.

I don't agree with 2.4 volts at these clocks. What is a good voltage for them now? 2.1 volts? I will mess with them until it freezes, restarts or has errors.

SuperPi mod will still say errors and not respond but I can play games?

SuperPi mod had errors at 5-5-5-18-22 CR T2 1.8 Volt.

Thanks!:D:

My Foxconn A7DA-S can max voltage at +6 whatever. It reads 2.352 under the BIOS. So, I can OC with relaxed settings 5-5-5-15-22 at 2.352 volts and get 1360 for ddr2 800 ram or use 4-4-4-12-22 with 2.1 volts and under? Even CAS4 will OC around 1000.

I'm hoping to get another motherboard that can run 2.4 volts. If I do I'll post my results. Might get 1T CR too!

My advice?

Sell that AMD board and cpu. Buy a Core 2 E5200 and a P5K motherboard. Clock that puppy up to 3.4 - 3.6Ghz.

Then you will see what speed really is, and it's cheap. Ramp that DRAM up to it's true speed and have a machine that can really use it.

E5200 =$82.99

P5K-E Pro =84.99
