G50EED
There's no explanation in the Quick Start guide. The box hints that it has something to do with response time but it's not clear to me what that means nor which switch postion corrsesponds to which response time. Administrators Technobeard Posted May 3, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2013 It puts the keyboard into a sort of compatibility mode so that older BIOSes will recognize it. That way if you can't use your keyboard in the BIOS, you'd flip the switch and it should work.

Flip switch and then restart and then go into BIOS? That should clarify it... lol
Falkentyne
Its for when you try to enter the BIOS with the "DEL" switch and the computer doesn't respond. Alternatively, it's for when you boot to a USB/floppy flash drive with DOS/windows 98 startup disk, e.g. for flashing a BIOS/firmware on something, and the keyboard doesn't respond. Most Bioses can handle this easily, but just in case....
Corsair Jason
The BIOS switch can be utilized for motherboard bios that do not support a gaming keyboard. The BIOS switch may also allow for compatibility with some KVM switches. The settings of 1, 2, 4, 5 will change the refresh rate of the keyboard. Most gamers will prefer using setting 1 (1ms or 1000hz).
