Sam18
Hello Corsair community. Currently I am in the process of building my pc in the Corsair 1000D case and I will be using the hydro x pump/res xc7 115x water block and xg7 ASUS strix you block. Also for my RADS I will be using 2 360mm and 2 480mm hydro x radiators all using soft line tubing. My concern and question is what is the easiest way to drain my loop as I will be flushing it with distilled water before putting in the Corsair coolant. The loop configuration is as follows. Pump res 1 to cpu, cpu to 480Mm radiator to 2nd 480mm radiator both next to each other on front of case back to pump res 1. Pump res 2 to gpu to 360mm radiator to 2nd 360mm radiator mounted on the top of the case back to pump res 2. Both pumps will have a drain port but I don’t want to tilt the case due to the weight and tempered glass. I was thinking of just opening the drain valve and letting as much distilled water flow out as possible then fill up with coolant would that work? Any and all draining suggestions for my loop would be much appreciated thankyou. (Forgot to mention the gpu will be vertically mounted in the case) Edited June 4, 2020 by Sam18
LeDoyen
The best course of actions is usually to drain your radiators BEFORE installing them, to remove any big particulates that may be present after manufacturung. If you do it after installation, you risk having these particles get stuck in a waterblock, and then you'll have to drain and remove the block for cleaning. That said, Corsair rads have connections on both sides of the end tanks, so it will be easy for your top rads to open the top ports and let air come in to drain through the pump drain port. For the front rads it's not ideal though. If you set the connections at the bottom they will be very easy to drain.. but a pain to air bleed. You will always have air stuck in the end tanks on top and unless you tilt the whole case 90° you wont get rid of it all. Using cross flow rads would solve that issue, but i don't know if Corsair has these ( http://hardwarelabs.com/nemesis/gtsxflow/480gts-xflow/ ). What you could do is mount the top rads with connexions on top, to be sure they run without trapped air, and provide enough fan and RGB cable extensions to be able to slide out the front tray, and take it off next to the case to just tilt the radiators without moving the whole PC. Infin1tum
Lazy man's way: I've seen a guy hooking up a bicycle pump to the line that would usually be his pump outlet, effectively pushing most of the liquid out with air. But make sure to have completely disconnected your pump from the loop or you'll potentially wreck it - at least that's what he said. Unfortunately I can't seem to find that video anymore. LeDoyen
yea, loops work at a few hundred mBar at best, so using a hand pump capable of pushing several bars can be risky. Not sure XG7s would like that :p (ooooooooh!)
Infin1tum
looked there wasn't much pressure build up, the liquid was just steadily running out his drain port. But I see how you could totally blow everything up going ham on the pump :D would be funny to watch lol Jayz did that thing where he blew a up soft tube loop to see how much they can take [ame] [/ame] Edited June 4, 2020 by Infin1tum

I just checked my Corsair rads and they only have plugs on one side of the end tanks - one rad, two plugs, not four. Unless I'm misunderstanding (which is always possible !!!) LeDoyen
oops, my bad. Edit : i got confused, been googling rads lately, seen too many :p Edited June 5, 2020 by LeDoyen

Also if you remember how many litres did you need to fill the loop thankyou. Edited June 5, 2020 by Sam18
Zotty
here is how its connected up http://i.imgur.com/Q2bE2bml.jpg as for photos in the back.. 64 Fan Cables alone. 8 RGB Fan LED Hubs. 4 8-port PWM Hubs. Commander Pro. Node Pros. Tubing. it's never going to be pretty and you certainly wont see in order in there... never ask whats in the Box lol... sorry man. i can however tell you. i used Soft Tubing in the back ;). below picture is from when it was a single loop http://i.imgur.com/wt1j6dIl.jpg?

Sam18
1 more question my loop will be pretty similar to your diagram will 5 litres in both loops be enough or is it not enough or what? Also I joined your discord.
Zotty
wont need 5ltrs dude.. around 3,,, get 4 which will leave you with excess for topping up
