You need to turn on software control for the RAM, which lets you assign to all the LED's on the ram

Settings -> Your ram -> Software tickbox

Its more CPU intensive, but lets you do the fancy stuff

You can add multiple effects and then apply those effects to individual DIMMs. Even in hardware mode, you can set different effects for individual DIMMs - but there can only be a single effect for a single DIMM.
