As long as it is properly formatted then no, you shouldn't lose any performance.

Just use the Win7 upgrade disc to format the drive, then install the older OS to the drive and then upgrade.

I use the Win7 upgraded disk and install then I got rid of the partiction then re installed it. My boot time takes around 40 secound from the moment I turn on the computer is that good?

Make sure BIOS is set to AHCI mode.

ASUS M4A88T-M (AM3 Chipset)

It has got sata2 I'm looking to buy a new motehrbaord soon with sata 3 is that why I'am lossing performance?

You keep talking about losing performance, and yet you haven't stated HOW you're testing or perceiving said performance.

HOW are you testing the performance?

Also, yes, the speed of the drive will be significantly limited when you run it on a SATA II port.
