TriixstaR Posted June 2, 2020 Share Posted June 2, 2020 Hey I have my brand new H150i Pro RGB XT and have just installed it, it is working (the temps are slightly higher than I expected but I'm hoping with some help I can control the fans) I have 9 fans in my O11 Dynamic XL case, I run 2 lighting node cores (the ones that came with my 3 packs of QL120s) to control the RGB on all 9 (3 are mounted on the new cooler) I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iCue, and changing the USB headers with the one on my CoPro, but nothing I seem to do makes the H150i Pro RGB XT light up or show up in my iCue software? I have made sure all the connections are correct and proper, the cooler is connected directly to the motherboard and so is the CoPro.. any ideas what could be the problem? When I swapped the USB ports at the bottom of the mobo it showed on windows "windows is now setting up h150i pro rgb xt) so I was thinking "great, problem solved, i'll restart icue and it should be fine" but alas, it was still not there? any help or advice would be appreciated as this is now my second H150i RGB Pro XT after getting the first RMA'd (DOA) so I'm hoping it's not another RMA case :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I can feel the liquid running through the hoses and stuff so I'm fairly certain it's working, It's just not registering in iCue and the RGB isn't turning on, not even generically.. TriixstaR Posted June 2, 2020 Author Share Posted June 2, 2020 I have now used USBDeview to confirm that windows can see "H150iRGBPROXT" and it is highlighted in green, connected, safe to unplug, not disabled and not on a USB hub? I'm using a Gigabyte X570 AORUS ULTRA, I have the cores connected into the commander pro which has an additional 2 USB headers - on the motherboard I have the commander pro plugged in, and the H150i plugged in, with the cores running off the commander pro itself? I have also just tried to disconnect one of the lighting node cores on the commander pro and replaced it with the one from the cooler, and it (again) registered and was "set up" on windows.. but iCue still doesn't want to recognise it.. I'm at a loss at this point, every USB seems to detect to some capacity, both internally or externally, but the RGB refuses to turn on, and iCue refuses to see it, even though windows sees it? the bios was in fine order too, and its connected to the cpu_fan header.. is this ANOTHER RMA? or do you think there is something I'm missing? That may be the relevant bit. Specifically the AMD x570 (and some X470 with BIOS upgrades) have recognition with Corsair hardware. There are some rather long threads about it, but most people resolve the issue by using an powered USB 2 hub. It doesn't seem to matter which one and the inexpensive ones do the trick. Look at CableMod (or similar) website for custom cables that plug directly into your PSU (if supported)... a bit expensive but a better solution than extension cables. Baio I have a modular one so I assume I should be able to just plug some more in, but I tried using one from my old Corsair 750 PSU and it doesn't work with it.. Then I found out it needs to be compatiable or something so I'm a bit lost as to what to do.. Yeah I have messaged them and awaiting response, gonna see if there really is no other options other than having another cable this evening. It's the configuration I'm using at the moment... not great performance improvement, I did this just for fun. I'm using Y splitters plugged into the AIO's headers (the splitters are from Silverstone)... the main issue is that both splitters from Silverstone or Noctua don't plug perfectly into the headers... it's a matter of millimiters, but I have to fix them carefully as one fan sometimes stopped working. I was on the line with Corsair support yesterday to see what they had to say, I mentioned everything stated here and the support agent was also completely stumped. I said "it seems like it might be software related since Windows can recognise the cooler, its just iCue that doesn't want to co-operate" - anyway, I was asked to download some Elgato program and run it, then send the zip file over to them to have it analysed by their AIO specialist. In regards to your suggestion, I did something similar when I installed it and the problems started, if I recall, I even tried leaving the option on and rebooting but to no avail.. From what I could gather, it might have something to do with Corsair and the x570 Ryzen chips.. I don't know if its a problem on Corsair's side, or the chips but.. I'm not willing to trade in my motherboard so I can get it to work, if the specialist can't figure it out and help me fix it, I will RMA the cooler and get a refund to put towards an NZXT AIO instead I think.. I don’t know who is at fault either, but this issue really only exists on that platform and Platinum/XT spec pre-dates the x570 launch. AMD does have a penchant for mixing things up. Regardless, most people solve this by getting the powered usb 2 hub. On a lot of systems you might need it anyway with only 1 or 2 internal ports. Tessiia92 Posted June 14, 2020 Share Posted June 14, 2020 Hey, I had a similar problem with my H100i, I can't remember if iCue was recognizing it but the pump was working fine, fans fine, just no RGB. I found out that the problem was a sata power extension, apparently the extension cable was a wire short and that wire was needed for the RGB to work. It might not be an extension problem (if you don't use one) because I seem to recall someone in another forum saying that their power supply was modular and when they swapped to a different cable with that extra wire in it, their RGB worked. Weird that their power supply came with two different types of sata power leads but there we go. Worth looking at if everything else has failed.
